Question on true duals for 305?

I am gonna get true duals with flow 40s on it. I am concerned about running them straight out the back cuz my dad said if you have a trailer on it it will get black carbon on what your towing. Is this likely to happen i don't think my truck really smokes that much?

Me and all my friends have duals out the back and all haul 4 wheelers on 5-8 hour trips... they're all still clean when we get there (maybe dusty, but thats it.
