View Full Version : 88-00 Escalade front conversion kit GP
Just trying to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing an Escalade conversion kit. We will def. get it less than anyone else. Going price for this kit is $1895.95, with a GP, we can drop that price significantly. Shipping will still be $200 though as is everywhere else. This kit comes complete with everything from the hood to the tow hooks. It will fit any clasic body style Chevy/GMC 88-98 or 88-00 classic style Chevy/GMC SUV's.

Is this OEM parts or one of those Mertek kits? You should have an option to delete the Caddy bumper for a '99+ Sierra bumper. :D:D
I am intrested . How much of a discount are we talking ?
Right now , we are looking at $1700 plus shipping. And these are not OEM parts from GM. Those would come with the Escalade holes on teh fenders you'd have to fill in. These do not.

I always wondered that about the aftermarket deals. That's a pretty cool deal there! I had to have my antenna hole welded up anyhow, so it was no big deal on mine. :D

Im gettin mine right through a GM dealer...i got afriend that werks at one.....so im gettin it all at cost......one tip i have ....get denali parts...WAY CHEAPER......im gettin everything for about 1500...and its no shipping. Give it a wirl!!!!!
Thats cool. If I could get them from a dealership at a discount also I would. The good thing bout the kit, is that it doesn not require any prep work, such as filling in the OEM holes in the fenders or narrowing the bumper. This kit comes with everything you need to cenvert your front end, even the headlights. And it bolts right on!

I'm interested in this kit, but is the bumper the same as OEM? The Escalade bumper looks like it is designed to go with the fender flares. However, I don't think those flares will look right without the whole lower rocker kit. I think maybe the Escalade front fender and door rockers will fit on a pickup, but everything behind the door and in front of the wheel would have to be fabbed.
It doesn't really look right to not have the flares because the lines don't match. Look at the first pic at this guy's site and you'll see what I'm talking about. link (http://www.cst.net/~mahler/br.htm) I'm not criticizing this guy's truck since it looks nice, but you can see what I mean about the line not matching on the front pic where the bumper is sticking out more than the wheel well.
Now the white truck in your pics with the reverse-opening hood seems to have perfectly matching lines, how was that one done? I noticed they lost that indention that runs along the bottom that I never cared for either.

Oh yeah, are clear corners available for them too?
From my understanding Carwear is working on the clear corners for the Escalade front end right now. I will let you know when they are available and for how much. I would assume they will have these as an option when you buy the Escalade kit, but exactly sure.

The bumper in the kit is the Escalade bumper. Yes, it is designed to go with the fender flares, but it doesn't really look that bad if you don't have them, which, if you buy this kit, you won't have the flares. This kit doesn't come with the holes in the fenders to mount the flares to. The white truck in that link you put up is my bodyman's truck. He has since trimmed that bumper back so that it doesn't hang back into the fender opening like that.
On my truck, I went with the '99+ GMC Sierra bumper. You can use that bumper with no mods, but it doesn't look as good. Mine has been sectioned 5" which also required some trimming of the fender to allow the bumper to come up underneath it. It was a bit of extra work, but I think it's worth it.

I almost think it would look pretty cool to have the flares and some kind of matching body kit on the sides. That would take a lot of custom fabrication though. The more I look at it, I REALLY like the molded "body kit" on the white Suburban with the reverse-opening hood. That looks like they shaped the metal and welded it though. I'm guessing that would be ridiculously expensive though!
Where did the 99+ Sierra bumper have to be sectioned at? Just the center, sides, or in several places? That sounds really difficult to me, what material is the outer bumper shell made of? I've never welded in my life, and I don't think something that expensive is the best place to start learning. :) 5" is a lot, I don't think I would want to try a stock bumper as I think it would look silly sticking out 2.5" on the sides!
Actually, my most favorite GM truck front end is the 99+ Sierra C3/Denali. I saw the pic of the 98-body dually with the 99+ front end, and I REALLY like that. That would be really cool if some company made a bolt-on kit including the new hood, fenders, bumper, etc.

I saw that white Suburban in person at Heat Wave. It really didn't look that good and I don't think that was metal molded on there. I think it was plastic.

The bumper can be sectioned in the middle, on the sides, whatever. It really doesn't matter. My bodyman found that the easiest way was to take it off of the outer parts of the bumper so that all you have to do to the airdam is to cut a bit off the ends to make it work right. You really don't have 2.5" sticking out if you don't section the bumper. Mine has been brought in underneath the fenders, which is how I got 5". Here is what it looks like without being sectioned:

The bumper is metal, as you can see by the chrome. The top piece that is painted is plastic.

It definitely looks better sectioned. With it non-sectioned, I can tell it belongs on a slightly wider truck. Is it just me, or does the bumper on that truck look slightly shifted to the left?
So the best deal on the Mertek kit is $1600+shipping? How much would shipping be, and would someone have to be at home to receive it? I couldn't possibly have it delivered to my work so I'd need to work out all the small details.
shipping is $200 as is from everywhere else. I would have to ask about having to be at home to receive it. It would be a pretty large package, so it might be freight, but I'll make sure on that.
I'm wondering if I should get this for my Z71, what do you guys think?

I talked to a guy the other night that has a 96 Burban with a OEM Escalade clip and said he paid 2K for it from the dealership. He told me everything bolted up fine and that it was worth the extra few hundered dollars to get the one that bolted up perfectly.

Count me in! I've wanted this kit since I first saw it long ago.
Is 1500 the lowest we have so far?

Ok, In the newest truckin magazine, I saw an ad for the mertek kit for 1498 or 1499.00, so I imagine we should be able to get it for 12 or 1300.

Yes, prices have changed on these kits. I will check and see if I can get it any better and get back to you guys.
