View Full Version : Need install tips for Indiglo 6 color gauges
I have some Indiglo 6 color gauges coming in this week, so I need some tips on installation if anyone has some (funk). I have heard about some people trimming the top portion and leaving that the original color. Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks, John
if you have the new apc ones like mine you can't trim them because theres a wire running through the top portion..
other wise just use a sharp utility knife and trim it away from the top two sections.
as for the other aspects of the installation, I wired mine to the headlight control box even though it said not to, and then mounted the knob on the plastic section of the steering wheel column cover
Thanks funk, any tips about removing the needles? Or re-installing them?
remember to draw a diagram of where the needles are while idling and how long it was idling before you took them off, then reverse the process of puting them back on, just don't push down to hard or they will drag like mine did lol took 3 months to get them back to the way they were to start with.
Haven't been delivered yet, but why do you set the needles to where it was at idleing and not just set them to where they are when the truck is off (zero)?
because of the way the gauge calibrates itself, it says to do that in the instructions so I did it lol
Thanks funk, its just that I am alittle nervous about jacking with my gauges, I will just have to wait until I get the kit and read the instuctions.

How much did you pay for the guages? Get them off of ebay?
Yes, I got them off ebay for $35.99+$7 shipping. Not bad for $43 total. We'll see how good they are. Here is the link.

Lowriders are for guys who can't get it up! lmfao;) :D
don't matter if you can't get it up as long as you get it in, and look good while doing it.
Least you won't see scratchs from tree, and mud on OUR rides lol
