View Full Version : 2wd Spindle Lift

I was wondering if anyone has put only the 3" spindles on their 2wd. I have to lift mine a little at a time, and can't afford to do everything at once. Would there be any bad side to doing this?
The front is really low on the 2002's. My front end is 2 1/2" lower than the rear (over the tires). Will the spindles level the truck out, or will the front then sit higher than the rear?
Any help would be appreciated.

First off Welcome to :fsc: ! I installed the 3" Fabtech spindle lift on my 2002. If you want a level look, go ahead and get the rear kit as well. With my spindle lift it actually raised the front of my truck 3 3/8" on both the drivers and passengers side.

Do you have blocks or add-a-leaf? I've always thought the blocks weren't as safe/sturdy.
I've heard from many people that the Fabtech shocks were no good. What's your opinion?
Also, what size tires did you put on after the spindle kit?

The Fabtech shocks suck @ss!! I bought the spindles by themselves and purchased the 1.5" block kit from Fabtech. I would go with either Rancho RSX's or Rancho RS9000's for shocks. I went with the RS9000's, I like the fact that they are adjustable. I am running 285/75-16 BFG MT's on the stock wheels.

Wow! I didn't think 285's would fit with only 3 inches of lift.
Do you go off-road much, or have problems with them rubbing?

I thought they were gonna rub like a Bit(h!! But the spindles increased my front track width by 5" (about 2.5" on each side).
I had to trim the plastic liner in the front, but you cant even tell I did. As long as you dont get the truck airborn the tires wont have any problems fitting.

You may want to look into a set of 4" CST spindles. They are more $$$ but their kits come with Rancho 9000 shocks and the spindles are better quality than the Fabtech (really made by Bullseye) spindles.

I was told you can`t use stock wheels with the spindle?Did you have to change anything or put spacers? Thanks

I heard the CST is a better system, but I'm not planning on breaking anything anyway. I haven't gotten a price on the CST spindles only, but I can imagine they're as expensive as their systems.
uknow,
I have heard both. You can and can't use the stock wheels. If 2002sierra is using his, then you must be able to.

I never lie. They aren't cheap but I'm telling you they are :cussing: heavy duty! When I was down at CST I picked up a set for a guy, wish I had my D camera back them. You can see some pics on their site.

I'll check out the CST spindles. If there isn't a huge difference in price, I might get them.
