Had question about exhaust systems on suvs. Muffler shop guys tell me I cant have my exhaust tucked under the trk with turn downs because I will get fumed. My 82 Blazer only has a problem with back window down,But thats with full exhaust turned out the side, and tucked with turn downs. Ive had it both ways. Since my sub has cargo doors I dont think it would be a problem.

the problem is that your entire vehical is passenger space
unlike a pickup that only is the cab
legally your exhaust has to exit from under the passengers compartment, thats why a pickup can be dumped and a car/suv cannot

you could shoot the exhaust out infront of the rear tires and it ill be short just as if it was dumped

No inspections in KS, so dont have to worry about being legal.Just want the sound, and mainly dont want to see exhaust. They also told me not to run them straight out the back, but it looks like camnuts has them coming straight out.

Have them/it tucked up right at the back. You'll be fine as long as you are'nt sitting in the truck idling for hours ar a clip. PM "gmcjoe" and ask to see a pick of his exhaust. He has a pick-up but he has something like you want.

Ya, i have no problem with it straight out the back but i did ask the shop about getting it dumped and they pretty much said what DKJ1028 stated except they never mentioned what was legal or what was not....

Here is my current setup. Single in/ Dual out Flowmaster 40 with stock diameter custom bent tail pipes

Also - I would not dump like this with an SUV due to the exhaust fumes getting into the cab.

My friend, the member formerly known as lime94on22s, has a '99 Tahoe with dumps right after his muffler. I've ridden with him plenty of times and never caught a whif of exhaust.

Here's a pic of how I had my wife's Yukon's exhaust done. I wanted to make it legal, but as out-of-sight as possible.
