I've always run GY or BFG 275/60/15s on my 1/2 tons. I tried the Firestones just cause, and I'm happy I did. The difference is slight, but worth the small increase in price. Expect better handling and ride quality. They wear about the same as the GYs and I'd say better than the BFGs. I'll have to get back to you on tread life.

I have been running the Firehawk Indy 500 (275/60/15) on my Tahoe since March 2003 (1yr 8mo). I have never had a problem with them and am just now about to replace them due to tread wear. I don't recall the truck mileage when I had them installed, but I now have ~123k on the clock.
The tires handle very well and look good, too.

My .02...the 275\60 BFG radial t\a's were less than mediocre at best. Crappy wet weather performance, non existent snow performance and were only ok dry-traction wise when brand new.....but they looked good. I've used the f'stone SS20's first and now the indy 500's since. Pretty good wet\snow performance. Also have 'em on my caprice with tightened up suspension and they work very well....even at the 295\50x15 size the 500's are good in the snow.
