Corners are tricky...hard to tell ya how to do it, but I generally crease the corners and use scissors to cut along the edge of the box...the fewer corners ya have to deal with the cleaner the install. As for where to purchase the carpet...get non backed carpet from a local stereo shop...non backed is easier to stretch. joakwin 09-10-2004, 03:48 PM walmart, i used some of that wal mart carpet on my friends box, it came out pretty nice its over their by the floor mats in the auto cleaning section of the store they havce a few different colors, blue black and brown is wut i can remember off the top of my head and its like 7.99 or 6.99 for a roll of it i think 3m makes some adhesive, if u get adhesive use the better stuff, it will hold better, don't get the cheap stuff, it sucks and takes for ever to dry, and doesn't really hold to well, my friend got some of the cheap stuff from wal mart and when i was covering his box, i had to put 5pound weights all over the box for about 45mins for that junk to stick to the box, it took forever and a day to carpet his box the carpet was good tho, worked out well, its not really speaker box carpet, its more of carpet for the floor of ur vehicle but since my friend had the floors of his car covered in the same stuff, it matched up well i could email u a picture of the box after i put the carpet on it so u can see how it turned out aggiekev 09-10-2004, 04:47 PM Thats ok, thanks for the advice, thats exactly what i went a got this afternoon, some heavy felt and 3m spray adhesive. nebraskaz71 09-10-2004, 05:26 PM Local shop sells carpet atleast here anyways. 3m the back of carpet and box like everyone else said and have some fun in corners haha. Carpeteed quite a few and get a lil better each time but dont expect your first try to come out perfect necessarily. Ghostcustoms 09-10-2004, 05:32 PM Lots of razor blades to trim the carpet with. aggiekev 09-12-2004, 03:07 PM I got it done. I'd say a learned it as I went and the end I finished on turned out better than the end I started on. Overall I am happy. Thanks for the advice. Exalted512 09-12-2004, 04:32 PM what class are you? its my fresh year at CS -Cody aggiekev 09-12-2004, 05:04 PM I'm a senior mechanical engineering major. What's your major? Exalted512 09-12-2004, 07:05 PM electrical engineering--im currently staying in Aston Hall in the commons -Cody aggiekev 09-12-2004, 09:33 PM I stayed there my freshman year, I was on the fourth floor. My RA was a prick. He used to patrol the hallways after 1 in the morning for girls. Once he stood by my door and waited for my girlfriend to leave. If you ever need anything just let me know and I can probably help you out. Exalted512 09-12-2004, 09:37 PM im on the 3rd....our RA is pretty much relaxed about everything...what are you running in your truck? -Cody aggiekev 09-12-2004, 11:08 PM I used to have one 10 and 100W amp with a q-logic custom box for an OBS truck that fit OK in the NBS trucks, but I am selling that stuff and now I got 2 JL Adio 10s from my room mate and a 300W amp and I built my own box that downfires under the back seat. I think it looks better than what i could have bought and it was probably about $200 cheaper. I have an Alpine MP3 player for the head unit but everything else is bone stock. Have you got anything in yours?
