View Full Version : Earthquake subs.
Any of you guys heard Earthquakes in an install? I found a place local to me that has REALLY good prices on them, of course they don't have any vehicles with them in it. Looking at the Magmas or Subzeros. I want to get 4 12 inchers, in a sealed box. I know I'll have to take the back seat out.
Hey, I've got the power to push 'em now I might as well go all the way.
I want really good SQ, but still be able to go really loud.

never heard their subs, but their amps are strictly SPL
A LOT of power but no SQ at all
whats your budget?

"A LOT of power but no SQ at all"
Bummer, dude. I just got a big bad Earthquake on ebay, but it's a "vintage"
Earthquake, I remember them sounding pretty good, on subs. Maybe the newer ones arent as good as the older ones?
Look at my other thread "Check this amp out!" that's the amp I got to power my subs.

As far as a budget, I'll save up till I have whatever it takes. I probably won't get my stuff installed till next spring. I have to save up for 4 12s, a high output alternator, 3 farad worth of caps, high end components for the doors & an amp to drive them, etc, etc. Other subs I've been considering are Diamond M6s, Infinity Perfects, Image Dynamics IDQ, but like the Earthquakes I haven't actually heard any of them in a car, just going by what you guys here on the forums say and internet reviews. Like I said I want SQ mostly but the ability to really crank it up and jam sometimes. I figure with the wattage I'm getting out of that Earthquake PA-4300 and 4 12" subs that shouldn't be too hard. I am used to really good SQ. Back in the day when I was into this stuff I had 2 Oz 10s in a sealed box pushed with a Soundstream Reference 300 (bridged into 2 ohms),Boston Pro 5.5s in the doors driven bi-amped with 2 PPI 50 X 2 amps. It sounded SWEET!
Thanks, John.

are you sure you want 4 12s?
2 Adire Brahma's http://sound-foundations.us/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_23_26&products_id=3
2 Resonant Engineering XXX's http://www.reaudio.com/html/ (i cant give the exact link becaure they use frames)
go to products on the bottom, then subs on the right side, then XXX in the middle)
email Sales@REAudio.com for pricing or you can call (702)896-4823
or 2 Image Dynamics Max's http://www.sounddomain.com/shoplist~b~Image+Dynamics~t~Subwoofers
the loudest out of all of those is probably the XXX-not sure on the pricing though...shouldnt be much more than the brahma though
but 2 of those subs will be as loud, most likely louder than 4 of the subs you mentioned above
not getting the stuff til next spring eh?
i do that too--research a longggg time in advance...then wait til the money comes in and just wait like a little kid for christmas to come
you should see the list of stuff im going to do to my new truck...its planned on over the next 6 years of what i should be getting each year!
