No personal experience with the Magnaflows, I have heard that the MagnaFlow XL is pretty quiet. I don't know if you will loose any low end power with it or not. It is a straight-through design, which typically translates into lower backpressure - sometimes resulting in a slight loss of low end power. All things being equal, you probably wouldn't notice it though.

If you were/are considering a Flowmaster, you should consider the 70 series. It is supposed to be pretty quiet, generate the classic Flowmaster chambered note, without a drone.

I've got the 70 on our 00, it's fairly quiet, but gotten to quiet for my personal tastes. I think the 454, or at least w/ cats and stock manifolds, is just a somewhat uiet motor.

You'll hear the 70, and it should have VERY little interior sound on a 5.7, but I'd think it MIGHT be a bit quiet, it'd still be heard under acceleration. The 3 chamber Magnaflow might be a good route though

I hear the IMCO mufflers sound like Flowmasters without the drone and they are cheaper too
