I have a 2000 GMC 1500. I have a flowmaster "y"ed out the back to some echo tips and it doesnt sound bad. I want to be really loud, borderline obnoxious. I keep hearing about some cutout I can do ... will some one explain this or give some inexpensive suggestions I can get more noise, stay legal for the inspection, and not make my computer go crazy??? Thanks for the help fellas

It's basiaclly something you put in the exhaust, usually before the muffler, that you can uncork and run an open exhaust. If you put it before the cat, the computer might go crazy, put it after the cat, before the muffler.

Where can I find such a thing? Does it make any HP or hurt MPG? Will it give me more sound?

Dude I have cutouts on my 76 and I got mine at jegs.com. Just click on the exhaust link then click on cutouts. It can make hp if you have a modded engine but if it is stock it is just for the sound.

If you were to get the right adapters you could bolt it on.
