Is this possible? I figure this would be far cheaper the other people sfa swaps because I am only intrested in it for the ease of lifting. Any comments or suggestings would be appreciated

I read somewhere one time that shops would rather convert to SFA from a 2wd because it was easier. Probably save you some money too.

i dought it would be much cheaper. need the t-case, probably some custom stuff, then all the rest of the stuff you would need for a 4wd sfa swap.

I heard that the reason was that there was less stuff to cut off, (labor) and that 2wds are cheaper to buy initially. That is where you would save the money. Not that it would require less parts to convert. Now, if you are doing all the work yourself, then it doesn't really matter.:D

The thing is I want to keep it 2wd, my truck will only be driven on the street. I want something like the 2wd f250.

Just leave off the front driveshaft, you are still gonna be looking at some big bucks, though.:D

i would much rather do a 2x4 over a 4x4 for a sfa swap any day , reasons are you wouldnt have to hunt around and find a ford dana60 you could get a gm dana60 that are easyer to find over the fords , leave the 2x4 transmision where it is and just add a divorced t case with a pasengerside output , that will let you run a gm front axle and give you a much better front driveshaft angle

to correct alot of you, my truck WAS a 2wd at first, and also i would not recomend doing this if you just want it higher, alot of money wasted if you dont want to wheel it, also, you will loose alot of your steering.

If you are gonna do something like that and never use it just do like you see semi's. Use a bar like they, just flip it and shorten it. Much, Much cheaper.

that would be a nice set up. but more parts, more custom work, new driveshafts, prob more expensive. with the overall truck in the price probably cheaper though.
