Ok I've just been lookin around at stuff and i had always thought that if I blew an engine in this thing I'd swap the computer stuff out and slap a carb on a Performance Crate. But reading different stuff here I am wondering about keeping the TBI set up. So here's my question. Will the TBI be able to feed this www.gmpartsdepot.com/store/product1.aspx?SID=2&Product_ID=1294&Category_ID=63 thing with a chip reprogram? Or would I need a bigger throttle body and different intake? I'm just kinda lookin at different options. The stock TBI has all the power I need, I can get into trouble with it just fine the way it is, but I'd like more power. I doubt I'll do anything for a while cuz I'm still going to school. This is just one of those things that got me to day dreaming. Thanks for any input guys.

it should work just fine i put a 355 in motor in my truck but i also went with a holley tbi 670cfm and the eldabrock intake and heads but i think you should be fine with the stock tbi but on the other hand if i had it to do over again i would trash the tbi and the computer and go with a carb i think you would be much more happier with that

You can do it, you can kiss your gas mileage goodbye. You can rip out almost all of the sensors and the computer since it won't be controlling the fuel any more. Other than that its a go!

dont expect that horspower rating to be applicatable to your TBI.
that more tha likely is a rating with a 600cfm 4BBL carburetor.. your TBI is
a 430cfm (wet flow) 2BBL. ok.. lets use a holley 670... yeah its 670 dry flow,
but because the fuel enters the throttle bores this diplaces air volume. not
the 670 is reduced to 520ish. next youll need to supply more fuel to make
the "better" power number..more air is not being displaced... get a bigger
throttle body. opps we dont have naything else to use.. ohh wait a big block
throttle body!.. have it punched to 2.125" and 90lb/hr injectors thatll do it...
sorta might!
youve just spent some major cash and achived a 20% gain over what you can
get with a simple cam swap and chip.
gotta get an engine.. use the 92-93 caprice TBI for a base and add on to that
at $1500.
for a TBI.. you want more horsepower, get a supercharger.
or carburate it with lousy tuning and bad drivabilty or spend countless hours on jetting and tuning.
