Should i get a 8" notch or a 10" notch for my OBS chevy? I am getting jasons generation 1 bridge kit, and i want to still get enough lift and lay out. Will a 10" notch be too much? I want to lay on 20's, and i am doing air over axle with a parallel 4link.
The crappy thing about jasons bridge kit is that you are confined on where you have to run your upper mounts where he drills holes for the connecting bars. I don't want to get a 10" notch, and have no lift. What notch should i get?
thanks all.
10" Is enough for 22's. 8"s is enough for 20's.

get the 8". You can always build some brackets behind the axle, which will lower the bag mount up to 3" more than over the axle.

I was in the same situation as you. Hopefully I can help you. Ive got jasons 8" step notch with crossbars. From the bottom of the frame under the cab to the bottom of the step notch its 17.5". The axle is 1.5" in radius so that brings us to 16" from the ground to the center of the axle. 16" x2 =32". So that means you should be able to run about a 32" tall tire. I had jasons flam top plates and the lower mounts that went on top of the axle. They dont work with the sleeve bags because they need the 4.5" compressed heigth. So I went with upper and lower brackets from air ride technoloies with the bag mounted behind the axle. Im running 29.5" tall tires and it all ties together perfectly.

It takes a bit off math as jimmy has pointed out. First I like to just kepp the 10" on hand or if I'm not sure what the truck is going to need. You can always cut it down! heres what you do , well what I do anyways. First I get the bed off and the truck up on stands, lift whatever and LEVEL. Next if you know where your axle is going to be then good but I like to install the 4-link first because as the arc moves your axle is going to get closer to the front (if you have the bars facing the "correct" way). after you have determined your center of the axle at the botom of your framemark the center. Now heres where the math comes in. Set the axle on a pair of stands. Measure from the bottom of the frame to the floor, next take your tire dia. and divide by 2 this gives you the radius. Now you have the floor to frame measurement lets say 20" and you have a 30" tire so the rad. is 15". What you need is the bottom of the tire to be at the 20" mark right. so you add the tire rad to the frame to floor distance to get 35". Now say your center of the axle is 25" from the ground you need it to be at 35". Say your axle is 4" away from the botom of the frame so you needed 10" - 4" + 6"
These # are just pulled out of my rear so don't think they represent anything the are just random #'s. I hope this helps. Oh another thing you can just weld the bars to the inner notch plate no need to go through it. Just make good welds.

Another stupid question guys, but the OD of the OBS axle is 3" right? Sorry for asking this, but being 2 states away from your truck sucks. I dont have the ability to just step outside with a caliper and measure it...
