even though i am 16 i jus became real interested recently wit slammin trucks down to the ground... now i hAva a couple of questions, and sorry if they sound dum...
1. wat is actually a c-notch(pic please)
2. how does air bags improve ur ride???
3. how low could u actually lower a truck wit out cuttin the frame??
4. wat does a 4 link do to your truck, and does it lower it or not???
5. if i bag the truck could i still put lowering components on it, spindles, control arms etc...??
6. on this website when someone says 4/6,5/7 etc... does that mean that their is a 4 in in front and 6 in the back???
and that is it.. thanks for reading, and again sorry if they sound dum,but i don't realy know anything about lowering trucks..

1. A c-notch is a little section of the frame cut out for axle clearance, like this:
http://www.suicidedoors.com/products/c_notch.jpg
2. Airbags improve your ride by allowing you to adjust the ride hight for factors like load and the driving conditions. You are actually riding on air instead of steel springs.
3. You can lower a truck up to a 2/4 drop without cutting the frame, with springs or lower control arms in front and leafs or shackle/hanger combo out back.
4. A 4-link is a type of rear suspension setup for airbags. It both lowers it and raises it (depending on how much air is in the airbag:D)
5. If you bag a truck, some people still use spindles or lower control arms to get their trucks even lower in the front, but nothing else is necessary in the back because leaf springs are eliminated.
6. 2/4 = 2" front drop, 4" rear drop.

Hope this helps!:D

thanks alot, but do u make the c-notch yourself or do u cut a piece out and buy it and weld it in??,and also does it matter how deep the notch has to b or wat???

how big the notch is depends on what size wheel and tire you want to run and how low you want to go. I have a suicidedoors.com 8" weld in step notch, which means i gain 8" of axle travel from the bottom of the stock frame *where it was* to the bottom of the notch. You have to buy the bolt in (not cutting all the way through the frame) or weld-in (cutting through the frame) first, then support your frame with a few jackstands, measure, mark, cut and weld.:D

you can make your own, thats what my mechanic did, he cut the frame, and fully boxed the area using plate steel

Here is a small picture of a c-notch. They can be bolted in or welded in, depending on their design. If you cut all the way through the frame, as in a stepnotch of 6 or 8", its necessary to weld them in and to strengthen the surrounding frame.:read:

a roll pan basically eliminates the rear bumper and "smooths" out the back end of a truck

theres a lip on the fender that people cut or roll upwards to fit bigger tires and wheels.theres a alot of ways to do like a baseball bat to roll it.just use the search button on top.

Do a search on "roll fenders". There is a thread already on this subject started by member "THEPISTONHEAD".:read:

o and wat would be the best way to cut the frame to put the c-notch in it, a torch, cut off wheel, etc, and u cut the frame that right on top oif the axle for the c-notch , righT?????

The easiest would be plasma cutter. I used a step drill bit in the corners and a Bosch jig saw. Others have used cut off wheels and torches. I would rather not use torch it will create a lot of heat. I think for a clean job the saw works well.

Don't use a torch, I used a Bosch jigsaw also, worked great. You can also use a sawzall, cutoff wheel, or plasma cutter if you have one.
