View Full Version : Long overhead console question.

I just picked up (shipping as we speak) a long overhead console and was trying to find a picture of a NBS with the headliner out or at least with the console out. On my 95 there were two tabs on the rear and a screw in the front, Are the NBS the same? It's out of a 98 but from what I can tell they are the same as the NBS, Any comments?

I don't have any pictures.
But I do know they are the same, the one I put in my '95 came out of a '01 GMC.

the only thing i dislike about my overhead is that the two round lights dont come on with the dome lights. i know i can wire them too but wiring sucks...

no prob i had the short console and put in the long one. :D i like the sunglass holder :cool:

So that hole in the front is from the short console? I just need to cut the rear hole? Do you know what year of truck your console is out of? Looks great BTW.
I put one in my 95 and loved it. That short console is basically useless, Does the front of the long console have the same "footprint" as the short one?

the short console is slightly wider than the longer one... i mean maybe 1/4 on each side, obviously you still cant see the hole cut in the headliner. mine i bought from ebay,it came out of a 03 i think...my friend had a 98 ext cab with the factory long overhead...it was exactly the same as this one

oh BTW i forgot i responded to your thread on ls1tech.com too....the whole time i was writing the above i was like "didn't i just write about this somewhere?" :D i was having a de ja vu i guess :D
