Looks like the start of something good.
However, with the seat raised 4 inches...isn't your head a little close to the ceiling?

looks like a pretty good welding job right there. I'd get the speakerbox painted or carpeted so it doesnt stick out that bad

Thanks everyone!
i didnt like the fact i had to trim my plastic panel either, but its my truck, may as well make it the way i want it.
if i had a welder and a bigger garage i would make some extra sets of brackets up for people, but a one stall garage doesnt quite cut it. been looking for a bigger house anyway though.
4 inches did make a big difference, but my kids are the only ones who sit back there, and even that doesnt happen too much. basically i go to work and come home with it. but the lift really helps as far as i can see, when i sat in the back before it seemed to have me sitting low and my knees were almost to my chest.
as far as i can see, i think this can be done on 2, 3, and 4 door pickups. the brackets are all basicly the same.
didnt know if anybody had seen my chain on there. i grew up in the hood. cant trust nobody! all i did is bolt chain to the underside of my seat, and run it to a set of eyebolts, then padlock it up. cheap anti-theft for the paranoid. :bling:
now i need to figure out how to fabricate boxes and consoles out of fiberglass. but ive never done any fiberglass work so i gotta find some literature or tutorials. just gotta dream for now.... thanks again everyone! :patriot:

Are you sure the seat will be properly anchored with that thin piece of mild steel holding it together? The old bracket had basically 2x the metal that contacted with the floor bracket footprint. I was contemplating doing it this way but since I can't fold my rear seat up anyway because of the amp rack behind it I just made 2" spacer pieces out of 4 pieces of 1/8" mild steel with 2 holes on each side and used them to lift the actual seat cushion off of that block shaped pivot point you had to drill holes in the plastic for.
