a Brand that y'all need to check out

Its called Total Mobile Audio...you may not have heard of it now but a year from now it is what alot of yall will be pushin...

Here is the story behind it:

"Recently acquired by JL Audio, Total Mobile Audio is a value packed, reliable,
over-built product line that addresses the entry-level consumer. Dan McLeod, formerly with Rockford Fosgate, created TMA out of the need of the independent mobile audio specialist to be able to compete profitably at the lower priced segment of the market. To accomplish this goal he utilized his many years of negotiations and relationships with prime offshore vendors to produce a limited line of products with unheard of profit potential, beefed up reliability, very competitive cosmetics and limited distribution. TMA will only be sold through the finest independent specialists, utilizing a limited distribution and high, achievable profit strategy"

I've "A/B" compared there stuff to all of the lower end stuff from the higher end brands and it cant be touched. This stuff rapes the cheap focals, diamonds, JLs, infinitys, polks, etc. Amps are dependable, cheap, and look great. $249 retail for a 500/1. There components are sick...subs are clean as hell. They basically created a company that keeps cost down b/c they dont have a ton of marketing/show cars all that bull****...alot of high end audio shops are gonna start carryin it cus its a great entry level speaker and the markup on it is actually surpsingly big...so that equals happy consumers and sellers...

PS...guess who might be gettin a full sponsership for the escalade (ssshhhhhhhh)....and if you know me...i wouldnt just put any $hit in my ride...i am genuinly impressed with this $hit...

yeah...the only reason they'd sponser me is cus im willing to take a $50k truck and put "entry level" equipment in it...but quite honestly...4 amps, 3 pairs of components and 4 12s should rock out pretty hard entry level or not...we'll see if it actually happens or not...

2. I seriously doubt having the show cars to market the product has much effect on the pricing structure. In the big financial picture of large companies, that would be a tiny portion of thier overhead.

2. I seriously doubt having the show cars to market the product has much effect on the pricing structure. In the big financial picture of large companies, that would be a tiny portion of thier overhead.

1. when i said new i meant the past year....they have a .32% return rate on there amps...and my friend who owns a shop has zero complaints...
2. they dont do $hit...they dont do show cars, marketing, anything...they keep cost down by doin away with all that crap
3. I used to be a member of Fck JLA...i still hate there speakers...but there subs/amps are very dependable...and although over priced...i think they do pretty good things with them..especially the new W1s and the W6v2s...

Maybe a few of the "flavour of the week cats" here on this site, but most people I know love JL....

As Demon says, it's about the hype, I know one of my old contacts where I used to buy my stereo stuff said he can't keep the stuff in stock, when I went to a boxing day sale I spoke to a salesmen and the same thing, he said people just want that name JL in their vehicle and they will pay whatever to get it, once again, hard to keep stocked.

Well arn't most good companies CEA-2006 compliant now? Meaning they can't sell the BS numbers anymore?

My rockford amp says it's like 300x1 and the birthsheet puts it at 1076 watts :smokin:

And you still don't think those subs are a bargain? I dunno man, maybe it's because Canada doesn't see all the brands the US does but here you are hard pressed to find a good sounding sub for a better price than JL (most dealers always have a package sale on them)

Anywho, if makes you happy I think I have my jl's sold and they will be replaced by two boston pro' 10.5's :rocking:

i can buy a 12" brahma for $380, or a 12" w7 for $700. ill take the brahma any day.
and no, i still dont think its a bargain. a bargain for JL's high price standards, but not for the rest of the industry.

See our dollar is less and I can get a 12w7 for quite a bit less than 700....

At one of our bigger boxing day sales they had 12w7's in those red jl sub boxes for 599.99 (that's about 440-460 american right now)

brahmas are the $hit don't get me wrong...but they are not an SQ sub...they are an SPL sub period...JL subs...W1-W7 are all "SQ" subs mated with "SPL"...they're not the cleanest sub in the world..nor are they the loudest...they are a good mix....

i'm open minded but say they gave all that equipment to you (knowing JL owns this company) it might cost them $100 bucks. For a company like that, that's easy marketing. The website won't load for me. But I'm interested to see the stuff. But damn, what an awful name. you'd think the guys are JL would come up with something alittle better.

the name total mobile audio was made up by the ex president of rockford (president of total) before JL bought it out....the logo itself and the brushed aluminum amps look very clean..ill get some pics of the product at my friends shop tomorrow
