'93 Chevy Silverado Gauges....

Hello,

Im new to this forum and was sent here by one of my friends. This is the first time for me to own a truck. i was wondering since the 93 chevy's speado only goes to 85mph, if you guys could help me find out what would work with my truck in replacing the instrument panel with another one that has up to 100 or 110mph speedo?

i am just trying to add stuff slowly to my truck and that would be one thing i would like to replace since i usually have it pegged at 85 and dont know if im going faster or slower....

and i am a girl, and havent been raised around vehicles so please dont laugh at me if i dont know anything and use lamence terms when talking about trucks... :D :P

The only way to find something like that would be to get your hands on a set of 454ss gauges. Thier speedo goes up to 110 If you do you find a set for sale, it's like finding gold :D

I have a set of guages that I believe are out of a 454 dually. Give me until Sunday and I will go to storage and see what I have.

The gauges need to be from a 454ss. I don't think the dually gauges that you posses will have the higher speedo.

okay, thanks...

i just would like to see a higher speed than 85 on my speedo since i have already hit that and couldnt tell if i was going over 100 or what.... :)

and if you guys have any more ideas that are cheap that would help my truck look and run better, please let me know...

i know it already has straight pipes on it... which i plan on looking into an actual catback exhaust or something along those lines but that is for later... :)

If you really want to know how much faster over the speedo your going, borrow a friends GPS unit for a few days. They'll tell speed within 2 - 3 m.p.h., but it's not a permanat thing like the 454ss gauge cluster would be.

well, i had someone pace me but i wasnt for sure if they were right on or whatever...

i guess i will have to look at getting just a gage or whatever to sit on my dash...
