A couple of leds were burned out that back light the a/c button and outside air button on my a/c controls.

I just have to thank Nick for fixing it. Anyone with any soldering skills can likely replace them....I found this out after we'd fixed it.

We simply removed the a/c controls removed the four corner screws from the back and pull the knobs...removed the back cover...two more screws hold on another board and the leds are visible. Heat up the soldered points and remove the bulbs and insert the new led and solder accordingly. Re assemble everything and you're done. If I'd found some blue led's we'd have put em in instead...

Anyways...thanks Nick.

Good info, my 'recyc' light just went out on my a/c controls.
One question, did you take any pictures of you and Nick fixing the light??

nope...it literally took him less than 5 min to have it apart and the bulbs out...then we drove to Radio Shack to get the new led's...and another 5-10 minutes to resolder...I never even thought about taking pics cause it went by so fast.

we threw the packs away...they were just some 12v LED's from Radio Shack...we tried to find ones that were the same size as the originals...

Are the stock LEDs orange? Or do they shine through a orange lens.

the ones that back light the buttons are clear...the ones that show whether the a/c is on or not glow amber, but look clear mounted on the board.

I didn't think the OBS were led's, I thought they were a small regular bulb?
