What would cause my cd player to skip when the bass hits? My stock cd played skipped when the bass hit hard, so i bought a Kenwood Excelron Cd palyer for about 230 bucks and now it skips when the bass hits. Could it have something to do witht he cold weather? Or is it dirty? the CD player is a year old.

could be inferior internal dampening, but look into stablizing the unit better first.

I have read on varous websites something about the voltage drop due to a loud system causes the lazer to run low on power and skip. Does it play fine on the radio? How big is your system? How close are your subs to the CD player? Is your chargeing system factory?

I would venture to guess that it has more to do with not installing the back strap, and not being secure.

Well, I've had the cd player for a year, and it just started doing this. It plays fine on the radio. It just messes up cd's, but only when the bass hits real hard, like when its up all the way and the windows are open.
The charging system is stock, i have a 70 watt RMS amp, and a 460 watt RMA amp running.

stabilize it better. if it still happens, could be the internal dampener/s is wearing out, or something broke loose. also, are the cd's scratched or "pocked"? still good enough to read normally, but not good enough to read with vibrations?
