I've got a 96 s/b standard cab. I unfortunately don't know the first thing about subs and amps, what's good what's not... I really don't want to get rid of the stock deck, i just like the way it looks. I've heard you can use a special component that clips into the speaker wire and has rca's @ the other end for the amp. How does that work?Secondly I can't drive without the seat being all the way back. What size subs do you guys recommend would work to accomplish that?

The piece you are looking for is a line out converter www.davidnavone.com
It all depends on how big you are as to what fits.. I had 4 8's in the back of my old truck and i was pretty much on the steering wheel but im a big guy so.. i think you could get two tens to fit nicely.. just need to look for a sub that doesnt have a huge mounting depth.. another option is you go do a blowthrough like some of the other guys on this forum have.. im sure more will chime in..

I'm 5'9 155, i had an 87 s/b standard cab and those bench seats don't go back @ all, I feel like i've gota recliner now so mounting depth is what i should be concerned with.

Hmm maybe a blowthrough is what you need then.

a blow through would be nice, but i dont think id ever run one. i dont like the idea of huge holes in my truck...but if you still want bass, pioneer makes shallow mount subs
