Installing Gauge Face and Needles (03-05)
Before you get started, turn the truck to the run position, checking, and recording were each gauge is at!
1.) Remove the surround around the front of the dash. (They are held on by the same clips as the door panels.) You may have to put the truck in 1st to wiggle the surround off.
2.) There are 4- 7mm screw that hold the gauge cluster in to the dash. Pull forward carefully because the wires in the back are pretty short. Disconnect the wiring! Not the easiest thing to do be patient!
3.) I my application I was adding a billet surround, and white needles. After removing the gauge cluster, there are 4 small plastic clips that hold the clear plastic piece to actual gauges, REMOVE WITH CAUTION!!!!, they are easy to break! That gives you access to the face of the gauges and the needles
4.) With the supplied tool to remove the needles carefully pry upwards on the needles, they should just pop off, Replace with the correct needle, in the same exact position!
Repeat this for all of you needles there.
5.) This step (5-7) is for separating the clear plastic from the black backer (not easy). You will need an exact-o knife and a razor blade! Start at the top center of the piece! Taking the razor blade and using the back blade slowly scrap away the glue also can be done with exact0o knife, this process is long and tiring work ( took me 3 hours to do). You will finish at the bottom at the lowest point. Clean all of the shaving out of the cluster
6.) Carefully spread the plastic( this stuff breaks easy!) And insert the piece. It should look like below

7.) Reseal the cluster using cleat silicone, allowing it to dry completely before installing
8.) Reassemble working from step 3 backwards!
Finished product!
