285's on stock rims be to small for an 04 2wd half ton with 3" body and 4" spindle? I want to try and run the stock rims for now and dont wanna rub the spindle and dont need the tire to be real wide so I dont have to run a spacer up front.
Also if I ran the spcaer they make a set of lug nuts that are .25" longer tha goes to make them fit flush against the hub instead of being .25" short. So I would think that would make it pretty reliable to run that spacer if I needed to.
Prolly gonna order that spindle soon, got a set of stock shocks, blocks and some new u-bolts off a 4wd. Just dont know what 285 to run.

what r you trying to ask?
285+ on a stock rim  ( not a wise idea), IMO i hate spacers!
If your asking wha 285 to run depends how much you offroad, how hard, what inda ride you want. It depends?

Is a 285 the right size to run with 7" of lift. Just worded different :imo: I dont want the tire to be to small looking with that much lift.
Lots of people run a 285 on a stock rim with no problems at all. Some of the HD guys run a 315 on a stock rim. There is only an inch difference when going with a 8" rim, and I dont see the reason to spend 6-700 on a set of rims just for an extra inch wide and half an inch less back spacing.
And what tire to run just meant havent madea choice in which to run. I have had alot of different tires in the past and just want something new. I would like to run the Toyo MT but discount doesnt know when they will be able to get me a set, and im not willing to wait months for it. I dont need a mud terrain, the truck will be used on street only. Just want a nice looking tire because the look of the tire makes alot of difference :imo: Performance wise most any tire in the 285 will perform to what I need.

It won't look too bad. I have a 6" lift and 305's (wich arethe same height as 285's) and they look pretty good IMO.

Went with a 305 sts swamper. Got 3 tires that are very heavy like 16 oz. heavy. So I have 3 new sts's on the way... But I love the look of the 305 and 7"
