View Full Version : how to wire these valves? 02blackrado 01-31-2005, 12:08 AM this might be a stupid questions but can some one tell me whats positive and negetive on these valves and whats the third connection for? i bought them used. Mike 01-31-2005, 12:37 AM I dont know, but you can find out easily. Get a 9-volt battery and some short jumper wires and start mixin and matchin positives and negatives until you make the valve click open. IRSd_mini 01-31-2005, 09:52 AM Use the top two. One for positive nd one for negative. Doesn't matter which one is used for what. The bottom isn't used. Bagged02 01-31-2005, 09:57 AM dosent the bottom one go to a ground on the vehicle. other 2 to the toggle IRSd_mini 01-31-2005, 10:28 AM dosent the bottom one go to a ground on the vehicle. other 2 to the toggle No. The top two are for the coil, to make a magnetic feild to actuate the spool. So one needs power, and one needs ground. The bottom one is a chassis ground. And isn't needed on a car. You can hook one of the top terminals to it for your ground. But you would be grounding thru the valve body. If you have the valve mounted securely to the frame you may be ok. But if you are mounting them to the tank, I think expecting to get a good ground from the valve body, thru the nipple into the tank, with the teflon tape or pipe dope on it, then thru the tank, and however it is mounted, might be a little optimistic. 02blackrado 01-31-2005, 08:02 PM thanks larry your the man!!! supermachine 02-01-2005, 09:01 AM i have my valves mounted to the tank, the right prong to the switchbox, and the other 2 connected, hasn't ever failed. cleans up your wiring... grounds through the tank i also know of alot of others who run it like this and have had -0- problems.. tank must be mounted to bedfloor/ or other ground vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
