besides them being wrong about where exactly its mounted i.e. its not welded to the pumpkin at all, that was a good read.

Actually it is welded to the rearend cover which I would do like there saying and brace first. :D

Is'nt that alot of stress for a stamped sheet metal part.

You would think so that's why I'd so something like the SD mount that bolts onto all the rearend cover bolts.

:word: That's what I'd do. too......sheet metal and suspension don't mix in my book. :scared:

maybe if you got one of those fancy racecar covers that are build to add tons of strenght....maybe that would be strong enough...

Watts links do work very well in fact cars like the new PT Cruisers come stock with them. The only draw backs about a Watts link is that they are more complicated than a panhard bar and they are quite a bit more expensive to make..... but they do work well. Keep in mind though, that a well plotted out panhard bar will only shift the axle 1/4-1/2" throughout the full range of travel.......... Oh and me personally .... I wouldnt be building a Watt's link off of the factory stamped cover..........

so the totally polished one has to be welded to the pumpkin? it didnt look that way on their website?

Izzy

Yes it has to be welded. It doesn't look that way because the center pivot point is so close to the rear end cover.

i really dont like that kit very much now. what about if the center pivot was mounted to a cross member? i think i remember someone talking about one that was set up like that.

You could certainly make a crossmember or a brace that uses all the rearend bolts like this:
