i finished flipping the axle on my soon to be dually, yesterday, by the way that sucks to do by yourself. anyways, i started cutting the frame rails for bolt in notch today. i sat it down to see where it sat and it seems like the original spring perch would hit the notch before the bumpstop ever came into play, do you cut the old perch off? just wonderin if anyones done this. thanks john

There is no need. Mine don't hit and never have. Is your axle centered back up? Those should be sitting outside the frame. Since the leafs are outside the frame those saddle are outside of the frame. I wouldn't cut them off unless you really have too...

I had to cut mine off. They were just annoying enough to bottom out on every once in a while. that was 80,000 miles ago. you are putting a c-section back in there aren't you?

oh, and by the way, they are perfectly in line with the frame as they are for the original bump stops. by removing them the axle housing gains at least an additional inch of travel into your notch.

Hmmm....I've never had any issue with them at all when I went to 5/8 and then bagged.
