Chip tune. I recommend WESTERS @ www.ecmprogrammer.com
A chip will give you the most bang for your buck on a budget.

Just a little friendly razzin!!!!
In all honesty, there is very little you can do to drop 3 tenths in the 1/8 mile, thats like 5 tenths in the quarter, for no money! It will take appx 30HP to get those gains, and HP ain't cheap! Freeing up the intake and exhaust will help, but not that much!

In a 1/8 it is all about the first 60ft. 3/10th is a streach but intake and a good launch might do it. good luck :eyecrzy:

cheap is my specialty....lol
try electric fans, belt driven fans rob HP!
weight reduction= get rid of your spare, leave it in the pits.
ok you have an ex cab loose the back seat, and anything else that is removeable, jack,etc....
you running a bed cover? loose it and the tailgate.
there are some wieght reduction tips. and you might want to lose the air filter too try a piece of screen over the intake tube attached with a hose clamp(JUST FOR THE RACE!!!) put the filter back on after the race. this is just a suggestion!!! use at you own risk!
you using pump gas? which octane? I would reccomend Amoco 103 octane its the highest octane pump gas you can get Amoco 103 is guarenteed to be at least 103 octane I know this cause I used to work at an Amoco that was on the way to a drag track down in Fla and every friday night all the racers would stop there and fill up their cans and cars. you can try mixing the 103 with 89 octane too I heard it would boost your ocatne too.
another thing is 105 octane boost.
also let the truck run on the boosted gas for a little while before racing it to get the comp used to the higher octane.

intake, exhaust and some 4.10's will get you there
on a stock truck, higher octane gas won't do any good
unless ur pinging/knocking/detonating than just run whatever gas u are now.
as for 'free mods' a 99 v6 camaro went from a 15.7stock 1/4 mi to a 14.4 1/4mi w/out spending a dime.

"This is my baby... She is a $0 modded beast. You may be wondering what is a $0 car? Well it means I did not invest any money on mods for this car to run the times I did. The mods I did to run my mid 14s, was a descreened MAF, unhooked exhaust after cat, removed jack & spare, removed drivebelt and an open throttle body (no airbox or filter). Other then that the car was stock down to the original Eagle GA tires with 37,000 miles and the stock open differential. This car has surprised alot of people at the track, which I love."

NOS. Cheap, easy, hard on the engine if abused.

u know i told my friend about that....that it was lame...and gave tops of 1-2hp(dyno proven on another site, so it does work..not 20though)
and i told him it was just a resistor...he was like "no its in a box" well he got it in the mail..witha 5cent resistor taped to a piece of paper...we put it in and he SWORE he was faster....but he lost 12mpg....i just laughed at him and he took it off after that tank of gas.
