How many miles on the tranny?? You might think about a Trans-go seperator plate if there is any more than 50K.

Can somebody explain this? I'm not a tranny guy, what is the purpose of all the parts listed here? I will be doing a shift kit eventually on my truck(14,000 miles right now) and would like some light shed on what is listed here.

for those of you about to install a shift kit:
there are 2 acc pistons you need to replace;
spend the $ on the OD servo assembly with the vette servo;
the HD2 kit replaces everything in the seperator plate, i.e., you dont need a new one;
change the filter; and,
save up for a new TC...best bolt-on for the $
i kill my friends 04 SS off the line

thanks This is a straight forward mod for a good tranny guy and if u service the tranny at the same time your lookin at 350.00 or so,there is also a better low pressure boost valve avalible for these 4L60E now.

you dont have to pull the tranny for the shift kit. it takes a day. watch the video a few times (BUT FOLLOW THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS!) and you'll be fine. it was harder for me to install the headers than the shift kit. the torque converter is a bit harder as you have to seperate the bellhousing from the block.
the worst part of the shift kit is laying on your back and having the ATF drip. try to find some glasses. that might help. and drop the y-pipe. with the y-pipe out of the way, it's much easier to get to the servo assembly.
