MulishaSierra 03-20-2005, 01:20 PM what kind of wheelin are you lookin to do, trails or just go play in the mud? byrdman77 03-26-2005, 12:46 AM The closest wheeling to Seattle that I know of is at Reiter pit. On Hwy 2 about 15 miles east of Monroe, take a left on Reiter rd., continue for aprox. 2 miles. You can't miss it. Warning!!! The place is kind of a mad-house though. Mandy 05-19-2005, 05:01 AM I just moved to Seattle from Boulder, CO where there are 1,000's of trails, are there any here in Washington state? I know the feeling, I moved here from Nevada where you can find a fun spot anywhere. After being here a few years I still don't know of any place good. I am about 45 min south of Seattle in the Tacoma area. Id like to find some fun little trails, mud to play around in.. something. I am not looking for anything major or greatly challenging. PapaSmurf 05-22-2005, 10:54 PM born and raised in WA state in Kent about 30 min southeast of seattle. i live in Socal now but i still know some good spots, a tiny ass town called belfair just south of bremerton there is a campground there with a 5-7 mile loop trail for 4x4's and other ATV type toys bring a friend and lots of recovery equipment it was really muddy in the fall and winter time. last time i was there it was us forest service property so its free to camp there and there are decent facilties. there are a few hard to find trails out by Black Diamond and Four Corners. a few trails out near Buckley past Buckley is a small logging town and miles and miles of logging access roads up into the cascade mountains i dont recall extally how to get there ask a local in Buckley they should know what your talking about take GPS though really easy to get lost up there. killer CB radio range though if you dont have GPS and there is a guy who lives on the trails i think he works for the logging company goes by the CB handle "gatekeeper" happy muddin CodyZ71 05-28-2005, 05:48 AM Born and raised washington stater here as well, just have not lived in there in 4 years. Yakima, is where I was from... It's kind of deserty/montaiinish/farmish lol But I never had no problems wheeling out in that part, and everyone just went whereeevr they wanted to (peoples yards aswell)... So mandy how old are you? Curious because I know some people over there in seattle/tacoma. PapaSmurf 05-29-2005, 01:54 AM bah im an idiot, or i was too drunk to remember :P we would allways head east to Moses Lake whare there is some killer sand dunes open all year round. here is some info i pulled off a WA state offroad club website: This sand dune area is open to all types of ORV's. This is a very popular area, weekends have heavy traffic. There are sanctioned sand drags held for all types of ORV's. There is also fishing at Potholes Reservoir for Trout, Walleye, Crappie, and Perch. Camping is primitive, with outhouses. No water available. Beware the sand is very soft, and is deceiving, very easy to get stuck with tow vehicle. Location: 3.5 miles S of I-90, Exit 174 (just S of Moses Lake) Trails: Open riding on 2000 acres Season: Open all year Fees: None Mandy 06-01-2005, 08:51 PM Thanks for the info PapaSmurf :) Born and raised washington stater here as well, just have not lived in there in 4 years. CodyZ71 06-02-2005, 03:34 AM Wow is that Light Blue Metallic you got on your truck too?! YAY! Mandy 06-04-2005, 12:33 PM I had been wondering what the name was but I have been too lazy to look it up. I love the color, it looks really nice tu toned like your truck is too. I don't know any of those people but I haven't met many yet either. I'm still trying to find my way around. K5Carnage 06-04-2005, 12:43 PM I am from Central Washington. We do not have trails like the west side of the state. Our's are more along the lines of lands yet to be tracked on. We have plenty of FS roads but no actual ORV parks unless you head out to moses lake for fun in the sand. I have been to Reiters and every time I have fun. I have camped there and do not suggest you camp there. Last I heard this area is under investigation and under the close eye of sheriffs and FS rangers due to idiots wheeling to hard, party'rs, and thieves that ditch cars up there. If your ever in the Wenatchee area let me know and I wil take you on a few runs. ben Ryan98948 06-05-2005, 03:43 PM Yakima Valley . tons of trails around this part in the desert foothills. dlb117 06-05-2005, 05:37 PM I have lived in Washington state all of my life. There are all sorts of places to go, but most of them are weekend adventures. As for offroad parks, to name a few, There is Little Nachees ORV area, Moses Lake Sand dunes ORV park, and a little closer to the west coast is a smaller sand dunes park called Beverly. It is right outside of Vantage (across the big bridge over the Columbia heading east, take a right immediately after the bridge). If you are into driving in the mountains where it is a little more senic, you can head up towards Greenwater, and there are some good fourwheeling trails that way along with some pretty hairy mud runs. Also, In the winter there are some great places to go for a snow run, or do some snowmobiling, or whatever you like. Farther east, you can get up into Manastash mountain, and Umtanum areas, with access to the Little Nacheese ORV area, and you could drive around in the hills for years, and never explore all of the trails there. Also, I am working around where my parents live in Maple Valley with some comunity groups, and the county to purchase some land to open up as an ORV park, and I am always looking for others who like to fourwheel to help out with this cause, if you know anyone else, pass the word on! If you want any more specific information, shoot me an email or a post. I am currently stationed in North Carolina, with the Marines, but We'll have to go wheeling sometime when I am on leave! --Doug Brathovde Dean- 10-14-2007, 12:21 PM I live in WA state as well. Hometown of Tacoma, but am currently in Ellensburg going to Central Washington University. But there are some trails up in Buckley, Packwood, and also around Bonney Lake/ Lake Tapps. One day I was out driving around around Lake taps in December and I found a little trail turn-off. If you are heading up 410 toward Bonney lake, turn left at that Dairy queen. Stay close to Lake Tapps and you should find it down in that area..it has some nice a deep muds holes, ranging from 2-4 feet deep, and just a fun place to do a lil wheelin. Also if you go out Pacific Ave in Tacoma, out past 176th, just keep going till you past 224th and you pass a convienent store called "Barney and Burnies" or something like that, the road curves to the left and up a hill. The road splits into 2 lanes up the hill, stay in the right lane and maybe 1/2 the way up or so you will see this steep climb off to the right... you can't miss it! Have fun and good wheelin! Mandy 10-26-2007, 11:50 AM Great info guys, thanks. FastChev 11-13-2007, 01:37 AM I have been to Reiters and every time I have fun. how full size friendly is reiter's? slidar 11-16-2007, 11:19 PM how full size friendly is reiter's? its not bad for fullsize's but there are few tiny trails that are harder for us.. alot of people head out there .. its pretty decent sized ... but yeah the sherrifs are crackin down out there and there can be ALOT of people in big groups.. last time i went i was one of 40 going out there for a bon fire n drinkin and we were one of the smaller groups NateDiggity 12-08-2007, 07:33 PM There is Belfair, or Tahuya State park which offers some good wheeling.
