If its the "wifey's tahoe" I might suggest getting a muffler. The muffler will help kill the resonance that can effect the large trucks like tahoes and burbans.

okay i have a new flowmaster 40 one in two out
i'll put that on there and i'll run just the cats on my 01 Z71
what about that
i know they'll have to put a "y" pipe to go into the muffler will that hurt it too bad or shoud i just sell my muffler and buy one with two in and two out ?
( she just wants duals and a good damn sound not really caring about the power ) but i care so what about this x pipe stufff is that based on the h pipe sh3t from the mustangs or just a way to get backpresurre?
thanks

X-pipe will mellow out the tone a bit, and reduce the "wop" the two pipes have. It just sorta warbles instead. Sound isn't the only "advantage" (some people like the harsh wop of true duals, I personally enjoy the mellower warble) as you also will pick up one or two mpg and some torque due to the engine having equalized pressures on each side, and an improved scavenging effect.
