Another good shop experience, Quinn Trans, a transmission shop in Lompoc CA.
My son has a POS 86 Z28 Camaro. He thought the trans was bad, was gonna put in one from a wreck. The one from the wreck was in unknown condition.
We took his beast to Qunn Trans, a small shop in Lompoc for evaluation. They checked it out, told him the trans is in good condition, no reason to R&R. Kickdown needed adjustment, pan leaked. They changed pan gasket, extracted and helicoiled a broken pan bolt (pre-existing), fluid & filter. Adjusted kickdown and linkage. They didn't try to sell an un-needed rebuild, were very honest. Total $120, turnaround 2.5 hours. That price wouldn't cover the labor rate at most shops.
