My buddy's dad wants to sell me his 83 swb 2wd 6.2 diesel truck for 1k. Its auto, 94k miles, has new radiator, dual tanks, has manual locks, manual windows, the bench is a little messed up, needs new batteries, a new right front fender, and the registration is backed from 2000. It also has no rust at all and the body panels are all straight except for the rf fender. The truck starts with a jump but the batteries wont hold a charge. Its also UPS turd brown exterior and UPS turd brown interior, we call it the turd burglar. I was thinkin of droppin it 2/4 and running the stock ralley rims and fixin it up a little bit to make it a nice daily driver. It gets decent fuel mileage cause I drove it for a day to see if it was alright. What do you guys think?

Why haven't you bought it yet???? (94k on that motor aint nuthin... it's too slow to get out of it's own way but it'll last and gets killer mileage) fix'er up for a couple k and you have a sweet ride... DO IT

The only thing that is botherin me is the fact the registration is backed 5 years. I am gonna go down to the DMV monday and see how much it will cost to re-register it.

If the truck isn't loosing coolant (6.2's are known for their terrible ability to crack heads) it's a real good price.
