View Full Version : Regular Cab Sub Boxes...
Looking at buying a Fullsize chevy/GMC as soon as i find the one i want...
Trying to figure out how big of box / subs i can run.
currently have X-cab nissan with 2x12s in it and the box WILL not fit
http://bugs.fdns.net/truck/95nissan/95nissan.html :-)
She puts out rather nicely.
Can some one post pix of their boxes in regular cab trucks please?
trying to plan ahead :-)
I would like to keep the 12's too.. but if i have to sell i will..
but really dont want to
how tall are you?
How do you set your seat when you drive?
Do you know how much airspace those JL's require?
answer those and we can go from there, there is a a good amount of room behind the new reg cab seats especially when you remove all that storage crap.
im only 5'10.
leaning back a little bit
not sure how much, they dont need nearly as much as they have now..
not much if im not mistaken
and i was thinking amp below the seat, and have the box the whole width of the cab as it is now...
and yes, anything thats behind the seat when i get it will be yanked out
shouldn't be a problem fitting them then, just mount the sub as close as you can to the bottom of the box, and angle the box backwards on the way up.

I have a 94 chevy fullsize standard cab, and at one point I had three JL Audio 10's behind the seat. Now given that i'm 6' 1" and have a fat butt...I had to have the seat all the way back for comfort. The box was only like 8.5 inches wide at the bottom and 4 at the top I think. I can give you specific ways to measure for how much space you have once you get the truck.

I've got a 1990 regular cab and we removed the stock center console and replaced it with a custom box with 2-Boston 10's with my 10 cd changer and cb built into it! :)

I have 2 10" Rockford HE2's in a long box that sits behind me and I am 5'11, no problem of leaning the seat back. Also I have 2 amps, one underneath each seat. I posted some pics of my system awhile ago here fullsize chevy, but I have to go look for them.

I currently have two JL 10W-0 in seperate boxes with my MRV-1000 mounted on an amprack in between them in my '00 reg cab. Seats are where I had them before the install (nearly all the way back, Im 6'3" 210lbs) and they look and sound great. I also had a single/seperated enclosure in my '95 with 2 MTX 10s and had my bench seat all the way back. I have the plans for both boxes here somewhere adn can scan them in if you need them.
I don't think that gm/chevy makes a tahitti pink truck, but I like the stereo that I have in my truck, and I bet it would fit in yours. I just have 1 10" infinity kappa...it bumpz mad titez yo. ;) :D
come on!! its all about the tahiti treat pink :-)
well..
if the bank manager allows, i found myself a regcab/short box 2001 .. new on the lot.. so is cheaper cause its a last years model
anywho.. the stereo will fit,, no problems.. but will need a new box..
Just gotta find a way to squeeze as much of a box behind the seats as i can :-) .. its not gonna be the 3-4 cubic feet im used too, but well.. the horse
power difference between my 130 supposed hp auto nissan and the 200hp 5speed chev should make up for it :-)
Can some one please post pictures of their set ups in their regular cabs?

10's will fit better, but get the cu.ft. you have to utilize, and finding a woofer to fit the bill will be alot easier.
