when i shift into reverse, i hear a clunk. i read that this was worn out ujoints on my 00 Silverado. last week, i heard a squeek in my drive train. i accelerate from a stop, and the squeek speeds up. i had the chevy dealer listen, and they said it was ujoints. i took it to the Amoco Standard service station, and they said the ujoints were ok. they put it on the lift, and the squeek was happening from the middle of my drive shaft. i stood under my lifted truck and they were right. any ideas?

Had just about the same problem...it'll only get louder...also could hear it from the middle of my driveshaft...it was my u-joints!!! Got new ones for cheap and noise went away!!!

if you have a two peice driveshaft it could also be a steady bearing, but i would replace the u joints anyways, theres nothing wrong with having brand new stuff in
