I retired the old 2000 S-10 EC 4X4 with 203,945 miles on it and received an 05 Colorado Z85 Crew Cab 4X4, I-5, auto,w/lockers, from the company for work in March and have logged 31,000 miles so far and here are my thoughts.
$27,980 MSRP  :whatever: :wtf: :whacko:
My first impression was, damn, for the same money I could have a full size ECSB Z71 5.3. :aniteef:
Well it is definetly an upgrade from the S-10 as far as leg room, ride quality, and size, but the seats are weak, kinda like sitting on a wooden bench with one of those thin stadium cushions under your ass, no side bolstering at all.
The visibility out the windshield and sides is great. and the engine is surprisingly adequate once you spool it up considering the fact that the curb weight is 4,090 LBS. No I wouldn't even contemplate towing my bass boat with it but it does OK. The fuel mileage has been around 18/22.
The center console is cheap looking and could use some work. Those cheap ass little general tires belong on a cavalier not a 4X4 truck. I wouldn't even try to go accross wet grass let alone mud. Chevrolet needs their asses kicked for even putting them on the truck. :bowtie: :whatever:
I have had only one problem and that was with the front end having to be realigned at 6,000 miles because those crappy tires were scuffing bad. :wtf:
Well anyway I am happy they didn't make me drive a Malibu or minivan.
Would I buy one for myself?? Not for the price when I can get about the same MPG out of a full size 4.8 ECSB with a light foot.
