40 series question

I have a single in dual out 40series muffler i want to go back to one exhaust pipe would i loose any performance if i put a y joint so it goes back to one outlet? also does anyone make this joint ?

You wouldn't see any noticable difference in performance with the setup provided the exit side of the 'Y' was ~3" in diameter.

I would suggest replacing the muffler with a SI/SO design for a cleaner look/flow. Magnaflow and others make y-pipes. Check ebay.

hey im the new guy but if you want a good awnser no this wont hurt you at all

gm did this to the 8.1l trucks like mine twin 3' pipes out into a 3.5' y tail pipe

My next problem is finding the y joint that fits that muffler.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think that GM made it that way on all HDs cause my buddy had a 6.0 HD and his Ys after the muffler to..:fsg:
