Just learning here so please go easy on me. I purchased my truck with this exhaust already on my truck. I do not know what type it is and I would like a meaner sounding exhaust (like the old 5.0 mustangs). Can you let me know what type of exhuast I have and what it would take to get the sound I am looking for. Obviously I do not want to break the bank. It splits in two after

Below are the pictures from front to rear. Let me know if you need more info.

Looks to me like the muffler was cut off, and glasspacks with dual tailpipes were added.

Ditch them :read:

You'll never really get a Mustang sound with any muffler.

:word: "Mustang sound" is all in the firing order of the 302. :read:

I agree, There not bullets though, I'd guess some kind of glass pack muffler too. Scan through a jeggs or summit catalog and try to match the looks from them. But if you want a similar sound, I'd guess going with two bullets in place of those will be close to what your looking for.

To me they look like the round Magnaflows, except that they are rusted :dunno:

Glass packs...the first pics are of your catalytic converter (smog equipment). As CKTA said, you CANNOT get a Mustang sound from a muffler...that is due to firing order of the engine and not the muffler.

if you are that serious about getting a mustang sound, you could always do an engine swap to a mustang engine  :run:

The 'Mustang Sound' is just to give you an idea of what I would like it to sound like (ie: throaty, deep sound). I know it will not sound just like a Mustang. Would Flowmasters 2 chamber give deep throaty sound? What about Magnaflows? The ones I have on now are not very loud. I also don't want to over do it and have it just plain obnoxious.

Thanks for your help.

look at an 18" dynomax bullet :rocking:

nice deep, throaty sound and a really big bark when you get on it, but not bnoxious sounding at all. at any rpm it's music to the ears :D

First and Second pic is a cat. You can tell the second pic is a cat by the 02 surrounding it leading up to the header.
