View Full Version : obs 6/8 tire size
im looking for a tire to go on my stock rims that is as close, if not is stock so that my mph is back to normal! that being said, whats the size tire id need for the front and what size tire id need for the rear. i dotn care if there different sizes, just somehting close and simular to one another
Not gonna happen, you can probably get away with the stock size on a 4" front drop but forget anything lower. I would run a 235/60/15 and call it a day.
what about the back? could i run a stock height tire out back?

i'm pretty sure you could. but a 235/70-15 already tucked a little tire on my 4/6

I wouldn't go with any tire taller then a 27" in the rear, and something less then 27" up front if you can.

for a 6/8, go smaller than 27". I had 27.3" tires on the 6/8, and they rubbed the top of the fenders like hell on bumps. 225/60/15 or 235's will be good.

I say pulout the fenderwells and run a stock size all the way around, that would look sik on a static dropped truck!!

i have some 235/70/15's I use sometimes, and it looks goofy when I ride low.

I have 255/70-15 BFG T/A's that will work in the rear (you have rolled you fenders, correct?) They are REAL close to stock hight, but wider! Actually I have 4 of them on the stock Silverado rims (I'm running with 18's now) that I NEED to get rid of - let me know if you need them! The tires have low miles (at least 2/3rds of the tread is left!) and LOOK GOOD! Up front I did run them with only 2" springs with NO problems and they looked like they would work after I bagged it, but everybody said they would rub (inner fender) and be REAL CLOSE - now I have 18's so ...
Let me know, cause the BFG's gotta go!
