want to lift, what do i need?

ive got an 01 gmc sierra ecsb 2wd...i was going to go the street truck route, but its just not practical for my needs, so i wanna mildly lift it. ive seen a couple people have 3" spindles, 1.5" coil spacers, and then a block out back. how good/safe is this combo? i would like to run around a 33 or slightly smaller tire without having to cram it in there. second, what are good brands/places to get these things? im not going to offroad this truck, but i need something that will hold up for towing something really small(small boat or trailer) and hauling tools/supplies but still drive good on the highway. fabtech seems pretty popular around here for the spindles, what about the spacers? thanks for any help, i really appreciate it. ps-what am i gonna be looking at for everything id need price wise? spindles, spacers, blocks, shocks, alignment...is there anything else? and btw this is gonna be a driveway project one weekend.

ok well this is a bump for me but also a question...

the more i read the more im worrying about the angles and stresses on the balljoints when using a coil or coil spacer...im really hoping for about 4.5-5 inches of lift up front...but if the only safe way to do it is buying getting a subframe, i guess ill have to settle for a 4 inch spindle...anyone make a good 4 inch spindle? or should i...(place your opinion here)?

Check out Suspensionmax at ebay, I havent been on this site for about 2 months but a bunch of members were saying they have had good luck with suspensionmax both price and quality, they actually use Full Force spindles (unless things have changed in a few months)
