I was gonna wait a while before I posted this, but 3000 mi. is enough to give you an idea of their performance.
I have 35x12.50x16.5 BFG KM's on 9.75" wide wheels. I have been extremely pleased with these tires.
On the road, they prolly rate about a 9 or 10 compared to other true MT's, Swampers, Buckshots, etc. I am extremely happy w/ their wet weather performance. I am yet to have them slide under any circumstances other than very heavy throttle turning on wet roads. This includes heavy breaking in the rain. Unless you are trying to break them loose, you wont. (That may change when I drop in some lower gears:naughty: ) They are fairly smooth riding and only have a slight hum. I actually wouldn't mind them being a little louder. In hard curves, you can hear a louder hum from more lugs hiting the road, Sounds cool! I drive 80 MPH every day, and have been as fast as 95 MPH w/ them. I have never felt like they couldn't handle it. I do have a slight vibe that kinda comes and goes, but it is almost unnoticeable and could be from the combination of everything done to the truck.
Off Road, I also don't have any complaints. I will say they are not Swampers, but I am yet to get stuck and not be able to regain traction. I have been in mud up to my nerfs and have had to back out of it to take another angle only once. If I had been using more right foot, the truck wouldn't have stopped in the first place. I have been in the same hole that two Yota's were stuck to their bumpers in and successfully walked out w/ each of them
:rocking: For mud use I would have to give them about a 7. Only because a true mud tire like a bogger or TSL would prolly walk away for these things I am sure. But, at least the BFG's won't shake all your fillings out at 80 mph on the interstate.
I had a set of the old BFG MT's on a '84 4-Runner. I must say that I believe the KM design is more than cosmetic, It outperforms the Old MT's IMO
My only Beef w/ BFG is that they don't make tires wider than a 12.50. Come on guys give us some more options!!!!
