You might try a wax and grease remover (and wax afterward).

It's pretty hard to diagnose a problem with an explanation over the internet.

Streaks could be caused by a substance on the paint, from poor drying/toweling, etc.

You should be able to find some wax and grease remover and O'Rielly's, Napa, etc.

What kind of car soap and car wax are you using? I use the meguairs new NXT products very deep finish, the person I bought it from used to dry the truck off with towels so it lef a bunch of little scratches used that NXT wax took those right out and now has a very very very deep finish

A PC is a great tool to have. They can be purchased from Lowe's for under $100.

Lots of pads, polishes, and other accessories from:

what are you drying your truck with, chances are thats whats leaving the fine marks your describing, alot of people use leave blower to dry there truck off, although a quick run down the highway around 90mph works well too :D

Hey, yeah I know EXACTLY what your talking about...kind of like hazing, when u look in the sun its streaky like...the best way to "level" it out is to park in the sun, go over it with a quick detailer, (Meguiars QD) or Mother showtime, works very well, use light light back and forth motions with a clean and dry microfiber towel. should solve the problem. BUT, if it doesnt, use a wax stripper, and start over totally. It ALSO can be caused by the wax not drying enough, ive used gold class and you need to let it sit, hope this helps!!!

sounds exactly like my case. black truck. i use a cotton baby daiper to dry, but only have one. i use a terry towel to get the bulk of the water and then sort of polish dry the rest with the daiper. but being that i only have one, it still gets a bit damp. then just the dampness and yucky water in arizona are enough to leave haze and streaks. to me it just sounds like you've got 'dryer error'.

the only thing that sucks about having a black vehicle is that all the detailing rules change, or at least one must adhere more stricktly to said rules... so much dang up-keep. but it's worth the look when it's all clean!:rocking:

I've had similar problems with certain Chamios... I have tried many different ones and it seems like the absorbers work the best IMO. Just have to wring it out often. Some of the others I've tried left a haze and/or streaks. Not sure if it is the chemicals in the leather/material. I don't care to dry with a towel as it would leave lint behind and streaks. I use that California blade to take off most of the water, then go over it with a chamios (absorber brand).

I have tried that Meguiars Gold Class and I didn't care for it. It seemed like it would never dry, no matter how long you let it sit it would still be tacky. Just difficult to use IMO so I won't ever use it again. I now use Zaino Bros products. Expensive but it is the easiest stuff I've ever used. It wipes off super easy and it has always produced excellent results. I have a maroon Monte SS and it never leaves any residue or hazing. Just a deep wet look. There are tons of different products out there, just have to see what works the best for you, but I would reccomend Zaino Bros. Good luck!

Tried out meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax Paste tonight on my cougar and it took the dull finish it had from 13 years of weather and made it look brand new.

I noticed once the rag was pretty much coated in removed wax residue on both sides, it would leave dullish looking streaks (wax residue) as i went to buff it.

best thing you can do is pick up like a 10pack of micro fiber's at wal-mart (like $5) and use 3-4 rags to clean up the bulk of the wax after its dried and follow with some clean microfibers to buff the shine in and remove and final wax residue, switch the rags to a clean spot every so often till the pretty well covered, and just switch to a new cloth
