Good idea to bleed/flush your entire brake system with dot 4 fluid. Got the rotors from Summit Racing for $93 each pads VGX were $34.95, Earl's Stainless Steel brake line kit for front and rear was only $69.95. Called them early Thursday morning and received them the next day at 2:30pm...via reg ups ground!!!

When bleeding your system...little trick is to only go half way on the brake pedal when bleeding as this keeps from eating the master cylinder bore seals up...as you don't want to go past the ware area...reason a lot of brake master cylinders go bad after a brake job!

Rotor wighted about 2 lbs more than stock units...also they are solid unlike the factory units which are a composite two piece.

So far so good...instructions say to take it easy on the brakes for 200-500 miles so that the pads and rotors seat in without excessive heat.

Nice job, I'm lookin' to upgrade my 95' Chevy brake lines to stainless. Flex hoses and rigid tubing. Any idea where I can get a complete pre-bent brake line kit???

After driving it 6,000 mile the pads are holding up great with very little ware...I do get a little squeel but only once in a while...with the stock rotors and pads I use to eat up the pads really quick...also had lots of brake dust...higher recommend this setup!

After driving it 10,000 miles the pads still look almost like new...with my old rotors they would of been 2/3 wornout!

I do get a little bit of squeel from time to time but not enough to bother me.

:word: I can vouch for that. I just had my Powerstop rotors turned at a machine shop. No problem. Is that what type yours are?

Do you have the actual part numbers for the rotors from Summit? I am heading up there this weekend to get some parts for my rock crawler and I have been dying to do something about the brakes on my 97 GMC. :D THANKS!

Just keep it fresh....now that the 14 bolt is in place I may upgrade to rear disc brakes as well as the 11" drums are boat anchors!
