I have a 99 silverado extended cab with a 4.8L. I just bought a new set of bfg all terrains and i love them. (Put them to the test last night and they performed great.) my quesion is what would putting a locker or a lsd in the back do to improve my off roading. I do not need this truck to be a off roader, i have a jeep wrangler for that. I would like it to do well at the beach and during any of road excursion i happen to go on. Any brands i should stay away from and prices on these would be helpful.

this site is sweet i love talking to chevy lovers.

I look forward to any imput.

putting a locker in the back would help offroading of any rear end.

definatly throw a lockright in there.

You need to purchase one of my Eaton G80 units $200. It is a factory installed unit just like you would have gotten had you ordered it in the truck. It is brand new and never installed in a truck before.

How does this g80 stand up compared to a true locker. I looked at both the g80 and the eaton electric and it sounds pretty slick. Does anyone have prices on these and have you heard of a blue ox or something similar to that, its a mechanically activated locker, or an air locker.

thanks for the info guys.

and who is that onthe back or your truck and where can i buy one to ride around with me.

Comparing the Detroit to the Eaton G80 is like comparing Iron to Aluminum. The axle will prolly break before the Detroit. The G80 is more for the monthly off-roader.
