I know that its not really a question but i was wondering if anybody was bored enough to help me out. I am looking for a Duramax new body style (2000 and up) under 100,000 miles 4wd with automatic transmission. I live in austin and am trying to stay under 16,000 can anyone find that truck? any help is greatly appreciated.

I would like to help but I hate to say, your not going to find a 2000+ Duramax 4X4 for 16k. They will be quite a bit more than that.

With 100K yes you will you may have to talk them down and you will be getting a real good deal, but there is nothing wrong with one with over 100K I have heard of several that have gone over 400K. Before you buy a 01 and 02 get the VIN and have a gm employee run to see the maintenance records. Don't get one that has had several injectors replaced I would say no more than 8-10 maybe alittle more if you up the mileage.

Thanks for the info. I am deffinatley looking for a good deal and high mileage is not too big of a deal after all it is a diesel. The search will continue. I found a good deal and a great truck but it was 2wd so it was a no go. The search will continue.

also what are the specs on the older dmax's not the ones w/ the new engines hp/tq tow rating? If yall could help me out that would be sweet. :bowtie:

300hp at 3100 rpm and 520tq at 1800 rpm for the 01-04 LB7s, not the 04.5 LLY IIRC they are 320hp and 605tq.

Yes, duramax's last forever. My dads work truck is an 03 Duramax with the Kodiak 4500 and that thing is a beast with 250K miles it use to pull a loaded trailer daily but now it pulls a trailer about once a week. Only problem is the known issue that duramax's have... injectors, which we have replaced 4 times already, DOH. As soon as you start seeing that smoke from the muffler you better start setting money back, fastest couple thousand bucks you'll spend on a duramax. :chair: But it still runs like new. And before this truck he had a Chevy 1 ton van reach 400K only major problem was rebuilding the transmission once, didnt start one day so we let it be, it did it's job, never even had it checked. Could have just been the starter for all we know but it couldnt have gone too much longer.
