Jokeman 07-05-2006, 03:07 PM Let's see your toolboxes and how you organize them. enine 07-05-2006, 04:57 PM The one in the garage or the one in the truck? Bob T 07-05-2006, 05:02 PM No point in me posting a pic. All you would see is my kids fingerprints and a toolbox containing an empty WD-40 can and a broken 24 inch crescent hammer. FlareSide 07-05-2006, 05:41 PM Alright, I wasnt sure which tool box you meant either, so I'll just post all my tools, since I dont have that many yet (I'm starting my collection though). I have all my sockets and ractchets in the forst drawer of the box, (in the pic) all the screwdrivers and scrapers in the second, and my hammers and prybars in the third. In the very top is my cmbo wrench set. I have mostly Snap-On, with a few Craftsman, and some Mac, and my Dremel Tool. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c286/98StepSide/P1010234.jpg Not bad for a 17 year old kid, but I need some air tools. :( Jokeman 07-05-2006, 07:02 PM Ahh...I meant roll boxes and tool boxes. Tools organization in general:cool: FlareSide 07-05-2006, 07:31 PM Ah, my bad...Well, thats all I haven anyways...impact and grinder soon to come... blazenlo95 07-05-2006, 08:08 PM No pics yet but I use the sears foam that you cut out to hold my tools in my box. Always lets me know when something is missing. http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00965417000 Jokeman 07-05-2006, 08:39 PM Ah, my bad...Well, thats all I haven anyways...impact and grinder soon to come... Nope dude, thats cool :read: I wish everything in my box was Snappy. slammins15 07-06-2006, 12:42 AM I have pics of how my old toolbox is setup http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/14.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/stereotools.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/screwdriverdrawer.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/standardwrenches.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/metricwrenches.jpg The other drawers were nothing special just some air tools and stuff. My new toolbox is just a mess sitting in the garage waiting for me to set it up so its useasble http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/Picture117.jpg 454ss 07-06-2006, 06:27 AM I can't post mine cause it's a mess, plus I only have 2 top and 1 bottom boxes left since I closed my shop:( Jokeman 07-06-2006, 06:41 AM http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/Picture117.jpg Is that the Costco or Sams Club box thats like 600 for the top and bottom? Im kicking myself I never bought one when they had it near me. CKTA 07-06-2006, 06:53 AM I'll get some pics this week. IH8FORD 07-06-2006, 08:34 AM ill snap a pic of mine next time im at work. but no pics of the tools im a mess with my tools lol slammins15 07-06-2006, 12:26 PM Is that the Costco or Sams Club box thats like 600 for the top and bottom? Im kicking myself I never bought one when they had it near me. Its from costco it was $749.99 cad. IH8FORD 07-06-2006, 12:31 PM hell its bigger then mine and mine was almost 4gs lol 97Silverado 07-06-2006, 12:38 PM No pics yet but I use the sears foam that you cut out to hold my tools in my box. Always lets me know when something is missing. http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00965417000This is the way all mine are done. Habit I learned from being an aircraft maintainer for the last 23 years or so. About to setup a new roll away for the soon-to-be-bought enclosed trailer. twiztid92chevy 07-06-2006, 04:06 PM I'd post pics but all my boxes, shelving and everything else is under a huge tarp in the middle of my shop part of the garage becuase my roof has been leaking and I need to get my butt up there to fix it. I've begun hating that the garage (basically built like a barn in the 20's, just wood thrown together) was here when I bought the house. Beams are bowing garage doors are on hinges way too small for them, probably be easier to tear down and rebuild if it wasn't built on a freaking hill (it's somewhat level though) and built like an L. CHEV4LIFE 07-06-2006, 04:18 PM I have pics of how my old toolbox is setup http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/slammins15/Picture117.jpg  that is one nice box:lol: blazenlo95 07-06-2006, 08:24 PM This is the way all mine are done. I LOVE it. Not only neat...It lets me know when I have left a wrench somewhere in the engine bay! Which I bet, would come in real handy while working on aircrafts too!:thud::thumbup: blazenlo95 07-06-2006, 08:27 PM  that is one nice box:lol: Word! Slammin does have a nice box! It looks soo new and unused!:D slammins15 07-06-2006, 08:41 PM Thats cause I took that pic the day after I got it all put together and there was no tools in yet,now its all full of fingerprints. BEN IV 07-08-2006, 09:15 PM great thread Idea, Im about to move into my own house so im going to have to get some more tools and a good box. Im definatly going to have to get some of those foam cutouts I hate a messy toolbox. chevy_ss_383 07-23-2006, 04:07 PM Is that the Costco or Sams Club box thats like 600 for the top and bottom? Im kicking myself I never bought one when they had it near me. i got pretty much the same one, just different drawer coniguration. got mine from sams for 680. trying to sell it now so i can go far bigger. Jokeman 07-23-2006, 05:54 PM i got pretty much the same one, just different drawer coniguration. got mine from sams for 680. trying to sell it now so i can go far bigger. Yeah those are nice boxes. Im still kicking myself I didnt buy one when they had em at the local costco for 599.:smokin: 2004rangeredge 07-23-2006, 09:32 PM well for the one work i just bought the snap on classic 96 thats blue and the one for the house is just a craftsman top and bottom black one Jokeman 07-25-2006, 11:34 AM Finally decided to snap a couple pictures. Im quickly out growning this box and hope to get a wider rollcab shortly. http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer5.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer4.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer6.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer7.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer8.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer9.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer10.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer11.jpg http://essexcountymotorsports.com/Pictures/Toolbox/drawer12.jpg Mattman24 08-02-2006, 09:00 AM i have never seen so many sockets before in my life  Jokeman 08-02-2006, 08:02 PM i have never seen so many sockets before in my life  6 Point and 12 Point in each size. Plus some of the cases in the lower drawers have impact sockets.:D Im a tool whore:happy: wilbilt 08-17-2006, 02:05 PM I had two Snap-On KR655 Roll Cabs I brought home when I stopped working in automotive shops. I sold them about a year later because they were out in the leaky shed getting thrashed. I currently have some beater top/bottom combos of various heritage, including homemade ones. I hate them, but I don't care about them getting leaked on. I'm still cleaning rust off the good tools, too. I throw the little dessicant bags out of electronic packaging in the drawers whenever I get any, but it doesn't help much if the drawer fills up with water...;) I used to hate getting a new toolbox, because I would spend a month organizing it. About the time I got it set up the way I liked it, it would be time for a bigger one. Drisco Z71 08-17-2006, 04:47 PM dont need a toolbox, they are all hanging on the wall in my shop wilbilt 08-18-2006, 05:15 PM dont need a toolbox, they are all hanging on the wall in my shop I used to do that, until my kids got big enough to reach them. It was like an invitation to borrow something from the toy store...;) Of course, it is easy to spot an empty hook just like an empty slot in a drawer. These days, I prefer lockable storage. chevyz71man 10-12-2006, 09:59 PM That aint to many sockets...I got 2 drawers packed like that haha.. But I wish I had those wrenches...nice nvm see there are two drawers my bad Kid_Rock_GTX 10-19-2006, 06:34 PM I figured I would show off my tools since I take alot of pride in keeping them clean and organzied. i used a form thing to hold all my wrenchs. slammins15 I love how you have your skrewdrivers. How did you do that? I am seriously going to redo my skrewdrivers just like that. i have a few ideas but is there a simple kit or something? Like i said i love how you have that, nice and organzied! Jokeman you definitly have outgrown your box! Did you buy a craftmen set? cause alot of the wrenchs and stuff you have are the same as mine lol I got all my sockets in every sie (1/4-3/8-1/2) in both 6 and 12 point too. I got the craftmen big set umm i cant remeber how many tools it was i wanna say like 6000? but its the biggest set craftment sells. i love it cause i have doubles of most everything. If i ever wanted too i could seterate my tools into my other box (little ass old craftman box) and have just enough tools for work and the rest at home or vis versa. Well here are my tools sorry for all the pics but like I said im proud of it and I will show off something I am proud of! The box is a clark box I got for 500 bucks, she fell of a truck....lol Its dented up a little but after some twicking all the drawers open and close just fine. F those 15,000 doller srap-on or mac boxes Ill stick with my nice little clark! http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1934.jpg This is the top I keep my basic 6 point sockets up there and some specialty sockets and other specialty stuff like torq and square sockets. I got my stickers! Cant have a box without stickers! http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1932.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1916.jpg This is my favorite sticker and dont you forget it! http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1933.jpg The rest of my sockets deep, short, 6 point, 12 point all of them! Somthing I love is that on the right of my box its all metric and on the left of my box its all standard all the way down http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1931.jpg Next drawer and so on... http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1930.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1929.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1918.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1926.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1919.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1920.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1921.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1922.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1923.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1924.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/kid_rock_gxt/10-19-06_1925.jpg Thats it, like i said I take pride in trying to keep her organized, hell taking these pics today i found out I am missing a small vise grip, a standerad set of allen wrench and a wrench. Pretty pissed about this, yea let your friends you use tools one and toda ****s missing, F*ck everyone now they can get there own tools Jokeman 10-20-2006, 06:08 AM Jokeman you definitly have outgrown your box! I just passed up a 54 inch snap-on only a year old for 900 bucks. Im still kicking myself. Once I get some garage space Ill get a bigger one. I bought a small set to start, maybe 250 tools. Then it just kinda grew from there. I started buying the SK sockets cause of the price and completeness of the sets and I like them better. Kid_Rock_GTX 10-20-2006, 09:07 AM I started buying the SK sockets cause of the price and completeness of the sets and I like them better. I thought about buying SK cause they are made here in defiance, oh. lol Im not sure if all there tools are but i know there is a huge plant here and it says SK everywere so I think all of them are, maby just some of them? I dont know. ninjalogan 10-20-2006, 09:46 AM My toolboxes are trashed right now. I have tools freaking everywhere because I'm never finished with a project. TigerEyz3 10-20-2006, 10:20 AM After reading this thread, I've got "tool/box envy." slammins15 10-20-2006, 12:03 PM slammins15 I love how you have your skrewdrivers. How did you do that? I am seriously going to redo my skrewdrivers just like that. i have a few ideas but is there a simple kit or something? Like i said i love how you have that, nice and organzied! I just found a piece of foam the same size as my drawer and placed my screwdrivers on it and traced them then I cut out the foam so they fit in nice and snug but not right through. Luckily the foam that comes with satloc systems is the perfect size. Kid_Rock_GTX 10-20-2006, 12:09 PM I just found a piece of foam the same size as my drawer and placed my screwdrivers on it and traced them then I cut out the foam so they fit in nice and snug but not right through. Luckily the foam that comes with satloc systems is the perfect size. thats how I was thinking of doing it, getting the foam the same size as your drawer then cutting them out so you can set them in there just like you said, That is how i thought to do it but was hoping maby there was some cool simple thing that would work. I am definitly going to do this mod with the rest of my tools there is a few boxs i cant really do it to cause they are packed but i know some of them i plan to do just like that! thanks for the idea Jokeman 10-20-2006, 12:29 PM gtx, What are your wrenches laying on? Superburb 10-29-2006, 01:01 PM When I first started buying in the early 70's..Snapon was the only game in town. I thought the Mac boxes had a cheesy look to them. And Crapsman...they didn't build one big enough to put hardly and tools in at the time, And I think they may have been made out of cardboard:judge: Now there are lots of good company's. I got turned on to Matco boxes several years ago. If there are any better boxes I havent seen them. The problem with big boxes is they are great for setting crap on:chair: Which is why I like the yellow one... too high to reach any thing on top. http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/2682/toolboxmx8.th.jpg (http://img106.imageshack.us/my.php?image=toolboxmx8.jpg) Welderguy24 09-16-2008, 03:42 PM My Snap on Classic 78. mostly full of Matco, Snap on, Craftsman, and Mac tools. it's gettin kinda full... would like to upgrade to a KRL1022 or 1023 but need some money first:cool: Right now my tools are at home for personal use on my projects. i was a mechanic for a while but have now moved to a driving job so i can finally have my tools at home http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00697-1.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00699.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00700.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00701.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00703.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00704.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00705.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00706.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00709.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00708.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00710.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00711.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00712.jpg http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/WelderGuy24/DSC00713.jpg trickedout420 09-17-2008, 11:03 AM welder- i do have to ask what the forks in your drawer are for in the 10th picture Welderguy24 09-17-2008, 09:20 PM welder- i do have to ask what the forks in your drawer are for in the 10th picture haha, forgot those were in there. from when i worked at tires plus and i'd bring lunch i forgot some forks in the break room and the boss just threw them on top of my box so when i left i just put them inside and havn't taken them out yet GreaseDog 09-18-2008, 01:41 AM welder- i do have to ask what the forks in your drawer are for in the 10th picturetuning forks.
