anyone ever try one of these? found it on pacific performance engineerings site, heres the link http://www.pacificp.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_7&products_id=43 it sounds simple enough and extra power for only 30 bones would be awesome but i was just wondering if anyone was running one of these and if they work and more importantly is it safe for the engine?

The early versions had some issues which should be better on a new one - what are you trying to accomplish? The LB7's turbo is pretty robust, and it should be able to handle a fair amount of power stock. Higher boost doesn't necessarily mean more power...

i was just wondering if anybody had one on these and how it works. wasnt really trying to "accomplish" anything, just trying to get some info to see if its a good part to install or not, $30 bucks for something simple that either makes more power or yeilds an overall better driving experience is a heck of a deal but if its not safe for the engine or something then i wouldnt buy it.

jumping from 18 psi to 28 psi with a 30 dollar part sounds slightly scary to me but then again I dont know crap!

They're a little piece that bleeds off boost pressure to fool the MAP sensor into thinking your boost is lower than it really is. Wastegate opens later and it prevents an overboost code.
On a stock truck, it won't do much, if anything, for you because more air won't help unless you've got more fuel than you can burn now (usually from electronics upgrades).
Long story short: IMO not worth the money on an otherwise stock truck.

It won't hurt your truck, he has a tuner listed in his sig.

ya, i do have a hypertech programmer, maybe ill give it a try as long as its not gonna hurt the engine or turbo

Maybe I ought to stop glazing over the signatures, huh? The early problem's been worked out & dialed in now.
I think I may still have the "stock truck" thing on the brain from a previous Duramax boost increaser discussion...
We've gotta stop meeting like this

Usually you don't need to add boost until you get smoke. Smoke is unburned fuel and means you need more air.
My car does produce more power with more boost, because the ECU sees the extra air and knows it can add more fuel. If I were to install a bleed like that it wouldn't add the extra fuel, so that part wouldn't give me more power.
