While growing up I always remember my dad always putting a quart of auto tranny fluid in his 6.2 diesel fuel tank when he filled up. He said a trucker told him to do it because it keeps the fuel system clean. Is this true? I'm currently looking for a duramax and was wondering what's best to run through to keep the fuel system+injectors running nicely? Has anybody else done this or just me?

You can do it, it's not going to hurt anything. Supposed to add lubrication. I would just use a good Stanadyne fuel system cleaner with each fill up.

X3 stanadyne is the only GM approved additive (not that it’s the best) so don't telling them you use anything different.
