Thats my wallpaper. I don't have a pic of my favorite truck yet because he isn't done building it =/. it's a Friends Cherry Red 40's model I belive chevy truck. he has been rebuilding it for about 7 years now slowly. he is the guy that gave me my Wheels and also has 2 69 camaro's, a SuperBee, GTX (hopefully soon to be mine), and 4 Harleys :D he's my dads best friend from work and runs the other shop.

Why in the lords name would you drive at that height though. With all that paint and bodywork, is it really worth it?

Is there any way I can make my 1970 C20 look like that? I was thinking about a 2-3" suspension lift and maybe a 2" body lift. Coupled with something taller than the 31s I have now it should look OK, right?
Originally I was planning to lower the truck but this thing is so heavy duty (8-bolt , DANA 60...) that it looks better when I raise it rather than drop it...besides my 1999 is down already.
This is my truck.....

this is the baddest 73-87 body style truck i have ever seen/ridden in. it belongs to a friend of mine. the body is flawless it has to may performance mods to mention. I'll just say 406 sb dynoed with over 540 hp. and if he hits the gas hard going below 40 mph the 315/35/17's in the back will break loose like bycicle tires on a funny car. the few times i rode in ti made me sick it is so sweet. oh yea 6/8 drop too.

I'd also agree with lifting that 3/4 ton. I've got a 1972 C10. 350/350. its got a 12 bolt rear end..camper special...cheyenne super...its in non running and rusting stage as I don't have the money to put into it:bawl: One of these years I guess...I'll end up replacing the whole cab and bed more than likely. It already needs a new fender, hood, radiator support, grille, both cab corners, both doors...and a right bedside...sounds like fun right

As far as lifting the old truck....Call AIM and see if they have anything. I think i saw a 3.5" upper/lower a arm set with coils. That should let you run 33s without rubbing. mines got 2.5" coil spacers I made and its level with 31s. Next will be 33s though as they will fit fine. 35s would fit, but I believe they might rub at full lock under compression

Yeah, as in Chassis Tech. Um Fabtech is the one putting out crap. 2 friends of mine have broke both A Arms from fabtech while out wheeling. They've since switched over to AIM and haven't even bent one, yet come close to breaking one. I'm not one to buy things from a company I have seen first hand when their products failed, not once but 4 times. Plus I can't justify the extra money just to have Fabcrap on my truck. I'll run my own companies logo on the arms....Later

I understand your reason, but AIM/Chassis Tech/Truckin Suspension is all the same crap. 1badgmc has had friends use their parts with nothing but problems. 5-8Chevy has a Chassis Tech drop on his 1998---Problems. The list goes on and on...........Just trying to save you money in the long-run and watch-out for your safety. :read: :D

Well who else makes 2wd lifts? Camburg does...but I can't find the CST site anymore:confused: I'm sure 5-8s problems were related to the high ammounts of the duct tape it took to hold the suspension together:LOL:
