Questions for Zaino users

Just got my Zaino stuff a few days ago. Not sure of the product number but I got the pre-lok, polish, swirl remover, detail spray, and car wash. So far I like the car wash, good stuff! Anyway, here are my questions.

1) After my initial application of the pre-lok and polish the next time I apply (in 6 months or so) do I have to reuse the pre-lok or just put more polish on?

2) How long do you guys wait after applying the pre-lok? Where I live it's like 90+ degrees this time of year with hardly any humidity. I heard the pre-lok dries quicker with hot dry conditions.

3) How long do you leave the polish on the pre-lok (1 hour, 2 hours, etc.)?

4) If I decide to use the swirl/scratch remover do I put it on over the pre-lok or over the actual polish? After using the swirl remover and buffing it off can I put the polish on without having to reuse the pre-lok?

Any responses will be appreciated. The reason I asked most of these questions is I don't want to use all of my Zaino products so quick. I want them to last at least three or four applications (if not more).

You only have to use the pre-lok the first time you zaino.
As soon as I finish the pre-lok I apply the polish.
You can leave the polish as long as you want it will come off real easy, what I do is one part at a time, I let it dry to a haze and then take it off.
You use the swirl remover in place of the polish.

Do you do the pre-lok and then the swirl remover and then the polish?

The swirl remover is also a polish...so you don't have to polish it again, just use the swirl remover in it's place untill all the marks go away then you can go back to using the polish.

You won't be sorry. just be sure to use VERY little of this stuff, or it will never haze. I use about a large pea size drop per panel..

That little, come on your kidding right! That small of an amount will soak into whatever applicator your using and not spread on the surface your polishing.

For example, today I applied the pre-lok and polish to the driver's side rear fender of my truck. I put the pre-lok on fairly lightly and let it set for 45 minutes or so, until it hazed. Keep in mind it was like 95 degrees today where I live (hardly any humidity). Then I applied the polish to the cotton applicator I got from Zaino and applied it to the fender. I swear it took like an hour and a half to dry. Maybe I used too much! I just drizzled the polish on the applicator to wet the entire applicator surface. Too much Zaino, what do you think?

I've got to admit after I polished the driver's side rear tail light with Zaino it came out amazing. It felt smooth as butter, unlike the other un-polished tail light. This stuff works great on plastic (and chrome from what I've heard).

You need to dampen the applicator with water. then the zaino will spread nicely, and thin enough to haze in less than 30 mins. The pea size drop will do a panel. Maybe not a hood, but it will do a fender/door.maybe 2 drops on a truck side.

Gotcha! I need to dampen the applicator and wring it out and then apply. Just like when I use any other type of wax or polish. Does this include the pre-lok (damp applicator)?

yes, any time you use a polish or wax it is good to dampen the applicator for 2 reasons. It softens the fibers on the applicator to prevent scratching, and it will spread the product your applying evenly and thinner than if the applicator is dry. also, try to use the cotton applicators. The foam ones can get real slippery and fall out of your hands.
