Hey guys, my truck is tripping a bad cat code, so I'm gonna replace my crossover pipe and cats with a newer one (off a truck that had an edelbrock system put on at 15,000 miles) I was wondering if anyone makes a bolt on cat back system. I know Flowmaster makes the American Thunder system, but it has thier quiter muffler on it, I want a LOUD exhaust. Also I am running true duals right now, with 2 40 series Flowmasters, am I going to lose any power by going to a cat back system that isn't true dual? Thanks for any help in advance!

i dont think you would lose power. the idea behind cat-backs is that they are designed to give you the biggest gains.

but with your true duals, i think you have already freed up all the power you will get with exhaust mods.

if you want LOUD, go with dual glasspacks!!!!

what size is your pipes now?

I'm pretty sure its 2.5".....here's something I wrote in another thread.....does this sound like a good idea?

Well, how does this system sound, I'm gonna get the Catco Y-pipe with 2 cats from summit, here's a link (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=27827). Then I was thinking about a Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system, here's the link (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=28391). Do you think this a good system? My current setup is all corroded, plus with the cat going bad I figure its a good time to replace my exhaust. Will having one muffler make it louder or deeper than having two seperate mufflers?

i really have no clue whether 2 mufflers are quieter or louder than one. logic could tell me either way. anyone have PE(personal experience:tongue: . )

first off Dude, i must say that you have the most BADASS chevy on these boards by far! my next truck will be a reg cab set up kinda like yours. but i love your truck.

after looking at yourwebsite and seeing that you have gone through 3 tricked out vehicles, im gonna guess money isnt an option when it comes to trucks.

flowmasters are not the highest flowing mufflers out there. and they definatly have their own unique tone. so maybe you wanna try something different.

if your truck were mine(and god i wish it was), but i would run 2.5 inch true duals into 2 magnaflow mufflers, then 3 inch exit pipes dumping just after the rear spring shackle area. thats what i would do.
